𝓚wanya, Ǩwystolf and Ḵwystyk solve 🅺wenslo

Figure 26a. Image by Whisk.

This blog page (below) has Part 8 of my Decade in Review (DiR, see Part 1). All of the blog posts in this series have titles that contain unusual characters. This blog post is called "𝓚wanya, Ǩwystolf and Ḵwystyk solve 🅺wenslo" because in my 2021 science fiction story "Meet the Phari" there are several characters who are alien-human hybrids with names that start with the letter "K". Kwanya, Kwysolf and Kwystyk collaborate to obtain some useful gene sequences from the planet Kwenslo that will help make better human telepaths.

As part of this Decade in Review (DiR), I'm identifying old science fictions stories that I began and never completed. Also, I'm using software such as WhiskWOMBO Dream, and Leonardo to generate updated versions of some of my old story illustrations. Here in this blog post, the numbering of these updated Figures (below) continues from Figure 25 at the end of Part 7 of this Decade in Review (DiR).

Figure 26b. Making a time Loop. Image by Whisk.

In Part 4 of "Meet the Phari", Kwystyk and a companion robot named Rob-B depart from Marune and travel to Yerophet. Kwystyk has a sister, Aara, who is another secret agent for Grean the kac'hin.

Aara plays the role of Ariel on the planet Numenes at the time in Part 17 of "The Alastor Network" when Acyreff is telepathically linked to her son while he makes love to Ariel.

Figure 26c. Generated by Whisk.
A Visiting Iidi. While traveling through space to Yerophet, Kwystyk meets an Iidi who warns that the there is a genetics research facility hidden on Yerophet that must not be revealed to either the Whelm or the space pirates of Yrinna. The Iidi also tells Kwystyk: "We will meet again, on Kwenslo. That is why you were named Kwystyk." Kwystyk knows that the planet Kwenslo is a world in Alastor Cluster where soon after humans first reached the Cluster, blind people settled settled the planet.

While traveling to Yerophet, Kwystyk also meets an alien-human hybrid named Kwanya. Because they both carry a nanocoid implant, Kwystyk has a strong telepathic connection to Kwanya, so Kwystyk is able to telepathically determine that Kwanya is from Roceinne, Alastor 1277.

Figure 26d. Generated by Whisk.
The images shown in Figure 26a and Figure 26b were generated by Whisk. The image that is shown in Figure 26b was made using a text prompt that was generated by Claude. The text seen in Figure 26a was generated by Whisk. The text in Figure 26b was manually inserted by me.

Silly Whisk does white eyes.
These two images of women with white eyes (26c & 26d) were difficult for Whisk to generate. Usually Whisk failed to generate white eyes and put a mask on the woman. In the image shown to the right there is a mask and Whisk placed white "eyes" on the mask. WOMBO Dream was completely unable to generate an image of a woman with white eyes.

The Time Travel War. In Part 5 of "Meet the Phari", there is mention of the fact that Kwystyk is aware that Delpha and his mother (Grean) were in the middle of a long-standing conflict with R. Gohrlay and R. Nyrtia. Alastor Cluster is being used by both sides in that conflict as a giant directed evolution experiment that has the goal of producing human telepaths who could form a stable society.

Figure 27a. Human-alien hybrid. Generated by Whisk.
Soon after arriving on Yerophet, Kwystyk is told that Nyrtia altered the cerebral cortex of the early settlers of Alastor Cluster and now all the humans in Alastor cluster have a large fraction of their cerebral cortex devoted to sensory stimuli that arrive from their skin and particularly their sex organs.

Figure 27b. Sedron Time Stream. Generated by Whisk.
Nyrtia and the Phari. Actually, that alteration to human behavior was achieved by altering the function of the Phari endosymbiont that is inside the human brain, not the cerebral cortex.

Kwystyk also learns that he and Rob-B are delivering a modified oxypathin gene cassette that Grean designed specifically to confer the telepathy-amplifying benefits of oxypathin on anyone. These new genes will be included in the Lavany mind clones that are soon to be produced on Yerophet.

In Part 6 of "Meet the Phari", Kwystyk meets Miahco, a teleportation duplicate of Kaiark Jochaim of Scharrode who was trained by Grean as a geneticist. Miahco has lived for many years on the planet Roceinne before being sent on his current mission to Yerophet, but Miahco is from a future time after the the existence of the underground Hui-chi cities of Marune were revealed to the public.

Time Travel Mystery. Miahco is the father of Kwanya and he is surprised to hear that Kwanya is also now living in this time. Kwystyk meets the geneticist Eynta who had worked to develop telepathic mind clones on Yerophet for the past 20 years. Kwystyk and Eynta are now eager to find Kwanya and Eynta mentions the possibility that they can: "get the lost Pharazen gene sequences from Kwenslo".

Araal and Eynta - image source
In Part 7 of the science fiction story "Meet the Phari", upon departing from Yerophet, Kwystyk and Eynta set course for Dreavero. Eynta has long worked as one of the secret agents of Grean the Kac'hin. Kwystyk is aware of the fact that Eynta was Grean's lover long before he was born. Eynta is a powerful telepath and she is aware that Delpha is there inside the spaceship that is headed to Dreavero.

On Dreavero, Kwystyk and Eynta meet one of Eynta's descendants, a telepath named Araal. They speculate that Araal might have a strong telepathic linkage to Aara (Ariel) who works at the Connatic's Hospital on Numenes. Soon they are off to Numenes.

Efraim Memory Transfer.
Figure 27c. Generated by Whisk.
Events on Numenes that are described in Part 8 of "Meet the Phari" take place at the same time as other events that were previously described in Chapter 17 of The Alastor Network. A teleportation duplicate of Efraim is provided and used as a source of memories to transfer into the mind of the original copy of Efraim (who had his memories destroyed; see Marune by Jack Vance). A telepathic group mind formed by Ariel, Araal and their helper robots, Rob-N and Rob-B, is used to make the memory transfer between the two copies of Efraim. Having recently terminated her romantic relationship with the original copy of Efraim (as described in Jack Vance's novel Marune), Ariel can now begin a new life with the other copy of Efraim.

In Part 9 of the science fiction story "Meet the Phari", Eynta prepares to go to the planet Ottengla with the teleportation duplicate of Rupert Gensifer who was brought to Numenes in Part 11 of "The Alastor Network".

Time Travel Loop of Kwenslo. Rob-B and Kwystyk depart from Numenes in Eynta's spaceship and they travel to Kwenslo where they meet Konywhn, who has completed her mission on Yerophet. Delpha teleports them into the underground city of Polyamrew where they are provided with the "lost Pharazen gene sequences" that Eynta had hoped could be obtained on Kwenslo. Using time travel, those gene patterns are delivered to Yerophet in time to be included in the mind clone that is implanted inside lo'Whots.

Figure 28a. Generated by Whisk.
Part 10 of the science fiction story "Meet the Phari" describes the time travel loop which makes it possible to get Pharazen gene sequences into one of the Lavany mind clones. Kwystolf, the sister of Kwanya, provides an important clue to understanding the controls on the time travel equipment inside Grean's old workshop that is hidden under the surface of the planet Kwenslo. Kwystolf has always been telepathically linked to copies of herself that exist in other periods of Time. Through that telepathic linkage, Kwystolf is aware that "ofy" means "time" in an ancient language. That information allows Konywhn to activate the the time travel equipment and deliver the telepathic gene sequences to Yerophet in time to be included in the last mind clone.

By using long-range teleportation to send Aara and Kwanya to Kwenslo, Grean goads Nyrtia into rashly teleporting Lord and Lady Gensiffer off of Gensifer.

Chyryq travels to Alastor Cluster
At the end of March 2021, I took a break from writing "Meet the Phari" and I did not post Part 11 until June. Chapter 11 was called "Tym and Chyryq of the Andromorphs" and it depicts Tym and Chyryq as growing up on a planet where Pryscylla the pek is working to provide genes that will be useful for the Lavany mind clones of Alastor Cluster. Those engineered gene patterns will allow humans to access the Sedron Time Stream. That, in turn, was to help allow telepathic humans to contact the Phari who reside inside the Hierion Domain.

I had plans for Part 12 of "Meet the Phari" that I have never completed writing. One of my goals for this Decade in Review was to identify stories that I never completed. In this case, I abandoned "Meet the Phari", but eventually I wrote other stories that depicted contact between humans and the Phari.

Time Travel Complexity. In 2021, I was quite pleased with the time travel loop that I included in Part 10 of "Meet the Phari". I then began making plans for what I called the "Lost Reality of Viole", a timeline in Alastor Cluster that had to be erased and corrected by Grean. Unable to sort through the increasing complex and contorted plot in "Meet the Phari", I abandoned that project. It would be fun to return to that story writing project here in 2025.

I'm thinking that it might be possible for Tyhry or her sister Rylla, while using the Asimov Reality Simulation System, to reveal the existence of the "Viole Reality". In 2023, I began writing Part 4 of a science fiction story called "The Cythyrya Investigation" which was intended to depict Rylla and Brak having telepathic contact with the Phari. It would be nice to be able to continue and complete both "Meet the Phari" and "The Cythyrya Investigation".

August 2021. My science fiction story Old Time Gaming is an origins story for both Rylla and human knowledge of hierionsOld Time Gaming was inspired by a computerized game, the Outback Tycoon scenario. Rylla becomes aware of the fact that her special collection of chromosomes was assembled with the help of a strange loop in time. Through the trickery of time travel, Rylla played an important role in bringing herself into existence.

Also in Part 1 of Old Time Gaming is the idea that there was a copy of the Editor in the past of Australia along with a copy of Rylla. Manny the bumpha appears in Part 1 of the story, but all of the details that she provides to the Editor and Rylla about their copies in the past are not immediately revealed to the reader.

Part 1 of Old Time Gaming is set in the time when Marda's son Brak is a young child and his powerful telepathic abilities are becoming apparent. Working at the Writers Block inside Observer Base, Stacy has discovered a whole series of stories about Rylla's adventures in 19th century Australia written by a woman named Emma Phillips.

At the end of Part 1 of Old Time Gaming, Manny the bumpha is shown teleporting Sophie McKnight away from the colony of New South Wales in the year 1814. Manny has a special need for Sophie as part of Manny's plan to shape the life of Rylla.

Rylla disguised as Sophie
Long before I wrote Old Time Gaming in 2021, I had depicted both Trysta and Ekcolir as having been sent back in time to the far past in Earth's timeline in order to help spread alien gene patterns into the human population of Earth. Similarly, in Old Time Gaming, a copy of the Editor is depicted as having existed on Earth for 6,000 years. So, having a copy of Rylla be sent on a mission in Australia in 1814 was not really a big deal... for Manny the bumpha.

Replicoids by Leonardo.

Part 2 of the science fiction story Old Time Gaming begins with the death of Rylla in Australia. This is the first chance for Rylla to meet Manny who says, "I'm your guardian angel. You can thank me for bringing you back from death." Rylla has been transformed from her biological form into an artificial life-form, a femtobot replicoid that can change the arrangement of its nanoscopic components and take on any desired form. Manny wants Rylla to begin a new mission in Australia, playing the role of Sophie.

Replicoids were originally artificial copies of people that were developed by the positronic robots of Earth as part of a time travel system that provided Earth with Temporal Inertia.

Replicoids by WOMBO Dream.

I had Leonardo make some images of what I imagine to be replicoids by using text prompts such as: "A science fiction scene showing a young humanoid woman with light skin and blonde hair styled in loose curls. The alien humanoid woman has pointed ears and very large green eyes that seem to glow. The alien humanoid woman is very tall and slim. Surrounding the woman are three translucent, cyan-blue, female holographic humanoids of various sizes ranging from just one foot tall to over nine feet tall. The blue female figures are humanoid aliens with pointed ears and large eyes that are being created artificially as part of an advanced nanotechnology experiment".

Blue vs Green. The image that is shown to the right ➣    and has a greener shade of replicoids was generated by Mr. Wombo using the Leonardo-generated replicoid image that is shown above ↑ as a reference image.

gold rush. (image source)
Previously, (see this 2018 blog post) I had depicted the discovery of negative mass hierions in Australia. In Old Time Gaming, Manny is creating the conditions that will make that discovery possible. However, Manny must be cautious: there is a risk that Nyrtia and her agent, Maria Green, could catch Rylla in the act of altering the timeline of technological advanced on Earth.

Figure 29b. Generated by Whisk.
Before sending Rylla back to Australia, Manny tells Rylla about another one of her agents in Australia, a man named Smith, who is a version of the Editor. Soon after adopting the role of Sophie, Smith arrives and they head into the Outback in search of gold.

The image that is shown to the right in Figure 29b was made by Whisk using Figure 29a as a reference image.

Smith is an artificial life-form and essentially immortal. He came to Australia fresh from the North Carolina gold rush, so he is well prepared to help Rylla obtain gold from the Outback. Rylla wants to finance the development of a research university for Australia.

In Part 3 of Old Time Gaming, just when Smith and Rylla star collecting gold form a stream bed in the Outback, they are pranked by Nyrtia's agent, Maria Green.

In Part 4 of the science fiction story Old Time Gaming, Manny the bumpha makes use of her ability to make copies of people and her mind-controlling infites to make it look like Maria Green was able to disrupt Manny's plans. However, there are now two copies of Rylla at work in Australia, one trying to make a deal with the Governor and one still collecting gold in the Outback.

Figure 30a. Generated by Whisk.
In Part 5 of the science fiction story Old Time Gaming, Rylla meets the Governor of Australia as well as a writer named Abigail Longfellow and Captain Doones, an engineer who is tasked with building a road into the inland of Australia from the coast. Abigail is writing a story about time travel. Rylla makes plans to hire Abigail to help at the school where she is a teacher.

Figure 30b, image source

The image that is shown to the left in Figure 30a was made by Whisk using Figure 30b as a reference image and a text prompt that was generated by Claude. The text prompt specified, "Behind her on the wall hangs a framed oil painting depicting another woman in period dress, wearing what appears to be a low-cut gown in darker tones". Whisk had misinterpreted the reference image as showing, "a dimly lit interior space with a window to the left through which another young female ... can be seen". Neither Whisk nor Claude noticed that the woman in the paining is holding a book. Figure 30 depicts Abigail Longfellow.

Rylla slowly comes to realize that Abigail is one of her ancestors and that Rylla is playing a roll in creating a historical timeline for Earth in which she can come into existence.

Figure 31. The Outback. Generated by Whisk.
In Part 6 of the science fiction story Old Time Gaming, Manny the bumpha has artificially accelerated to rate at which Smith and his team collect gold in the Outback.

Meanwhile, back in town, Rylla and Abigail become lovers and Rylla discovers that Abigail has inherited from her mother the alien trait of having four breasts.

Figure 32. Australia. Generated by Whisk.
At the same time when Smith and a copy of Rylla are returning to the coast with a caravan that is loaded with gold, the other copy of Rylla and Captain Doones are traveling into the Outback. Doones has been assigned the task of secretly getting the gold to the coast without triggering a gold rush. Rylla's thoughts have already shifted to the next phase of her mission: going to Western Australia to accelerate the founding and development of Perth.

Figure 33. Liza cleaning.

Time Travel. The science fiction story Old Time Gaming, is set in another Reality of Earth's Reality Chain, not too long before the Final Reality. In Part 7 of Old Time Gaming, Rylla is shown being allowed (by Manny) to retain memories of an alternate Reality. In the Reality that is erased by a Reality Change, the copy of Rylla who is impersonating Sophie got to have a sexual encounter with Captain Doones. In the newer Reality, it is the other copy of Rylla  who is in Australia (using her own bodily form) who must entice Doones and convince him to travel to Western Australia.

Rylla performs an experiment on Liza, a cleaning woman. Liza tries to deploy memory-editing nanites and place an idea into Liza's mind: the idea of having Captain Doones as a lover. Liza seemingly confirms that the experiment worked when she tells Rylla, "I had a nice sex dream about the Captain."

Time Portal: the Next Generation
Recursive Science Fiction. The story Old Time Gaming includes characters who are depicted as being story writers. Abigail Longfellow is writing a story about time travel in 1814 and the story is called Time Portal

Figure 34Time Portal cover.
Generated by Whisk.
In September 2021, in a blog post called "Dr. Twissell", I began a "story within a story" called Time Portal, which I begin with Emma Phillips. Emma is a descendant of Abigail who actually builds a time travel machine.

I had Whisk generate a version of the original Time Portal cover illustration that I made back in 2021. In the AI-generated image that is shown in Figure 34, Whisk seemingly gave up on the possibility of showing an enigmatic internal structure for the dodecahedron and instead pasted a complex pattern that to my eye is on the surface. I do like the text that Whisk generated for this cover image.

Francesca Maurolico
I did not write the second part of Time Portal until the end of 2023 and describe the plot of that story in a later blog post in this Decade in Review (DiR)series. For now, suffice it to say, that Abigail Longfellow's time travel story was set in Australia.

In Part 8 of the science fiction story Old Time Gaming, the copy of Rylla that is using her body form (NOT the copy that is still impersonating the school teacher, Sophie) tries to recruit Captain Doones to join her in going to Western Australia. Manny tells Rylla that her mission is on track to, "get the White family positioned in Western Australia and Georgy White will eventually discover hierions near Perth". In 2018, I had introduced the idea of humans first learning about hierions by way of a discovery made near Perth, Australia (see this 2018 blog post).

Garden Island - image source
This second copy of Rylla meets Abigail and almost at once, Rylla suspects that Abigail might be related to her. They have a telepathic connection and they both have four nipples. Rylla discovers that she can telepathically place a thought in Abigail's mind.

Abigail tells Rylla about the plot of her novel, Time Portal, in which Professor Francesca Maurolico discovered the mathematical equations that describe movement through the temporal dimension and how that theoretical breakthrough later made possible a new science of temporal mechanics.

Figure 35. Voyage to Garden Island.
Generated by Whisk.
In Part 9 of the science fiction story Old Time Gaming, Rylla meets George White who is an ancestor of Georgy White, the woman who will discover anti-gravity hierions in the 21st century. Rylla arranges for passage to Western Australia.

In Part 10 of the science fiction story Old Time Gaming, Rylla, Doones, George White and David Phillips arrive at the camp of Anselme Riedlé, a French botanist who has been living on an island near the future location of Perth, Australia. Two copies of Manny the bumpha are also there, pretending to be natives.

The Three Sophies. In Part 11 of the science fiction story Old Time Gaming, it is revealed that there are now multiple copies of Sophie: 1) a copy of Rylla who continues to living near Sydney and who is using the physical form of Sophie as a disguise. 2) a copy of Sophie who is doing archeological research at the site of an abandoned tryp'At base in Australia, and 3) a copy of Sophie who has been living onboard Many Sails was able to telepathically link to the other copy of Sophie (2) who is living on Earth. Copies #2 and #3 are linked telepathically, and copy #3 records the discoveries that are made by copy #2.

After their discovery of gold near Sydney, Smith and his travel companions, Max and Liza, have explored the interior of Australia (see the image to the left). Now they reach the site where Sophie2 had been exploring the abandoned tryp'At base. Sophie2 and Smith become lovers and continue their explorations. Soon, Sophie2 and Smith become parents.

Meanwhile, at Rylla's settlement in Western Australia, Rylla has given birth to a child (Occyde) and then a year later, Abigail's daughter, Kate, is born. Manny hints that Occyde was created with gene patterns obtained from the future.

Eventually, near the time of the founding of Perth, Occyde and Kate produce a child who Manny describes as "special telepathic human" who Manny must remove from Earth. Manny thanks Occyde and Kate for producing the child but she tells then that, "19th century Earth is no place for a powerful human telepath." Manny tells Rylla, "I need Kate's first born for a project in another time and on another world." That world is SM284. The danger is that Kate's telepathic baby would not fail to attract the attention of Nyrtia and her field agent, Maria Green.

Figure 36. Maria and Rylla battle with nanites.

In Part 12 of Old Time Gaming, Maria Green wants to prevent publication of Abigail's book Time Portal. Rylla says, "Abigail's story is fiction," to which Maria says, "The story told in the book is too close to the truth". As shown in Figure 36, Rylla and Maria come into direct physical conflict. Maria is allowed to believe that she put an end to Rylla's attempt to alter the historical timeline of Earth, but ultimately Manny the bumpha has accomplished her goals which will being into existence the Final Reality.

Incomplete. One of my goals for this Decade in Review (DiR) is identifying science fiction stories that I never completed. As discussed above on this page, when I began writing "Meet the Phari", I had hoped to show how a network of telepathic mind clones would make contact with the Phari in the Asimov Reality. However, I got bogged down in the complexities that come from having multiple copies of characters who are involved in complex time loops and I never was able to depict human-Phari contact back in 2021. "Meet the Phari" ended in mid-stride.

Figure 37b. In the past.
  Generated by Whisk.
Also, as part of Old Time Gaming, I began a story-within-a-story called Time Portal. As described in my next blog post, I moved on to writing a new story called "Telepaths of Site Q" before I wrote the second chapter of Time PortalTime Portal also involves a time loop in which travel into the past makes possible the discovery of time travel. Constructing such time loops can be quite challenging and I confess that my brain struggles to juggle the causal complexity of self-generating loops in time.

For Figure 37, I had Claude generate a text prompt that allowed Gemini to make a time portal image. I had Mr. Wombo make a better image of the time traveler. I then used the images from Gemini and Mr. Wombo as reference images for Whisk.
