The Xylo Clones

Xylo and her clone sisters.

Below on this page is Part 4 of a science fiction story called "The Fesarians". In Part 2, Lieutenant Bailey and Dani Olsen were teleported into the Command Center of the human colony on planet Elemacha-z where they met Mayor Xylo. Under Xylo's watchful eyes, Dani began making repairs to the colony's electric power distribution system.

In Part 2. Bailey met Talia Vance, one of the power systems engineers for Port Cooway. Talia is a human-tryp'At hybrid who was trained by Starfleet's Planetary Colonization Service to function in telepathic synergy with her two clone sisters. Talia began explaining to Bailey the nature of the existing conflict on Elemacha-z between the newly-arrived human colonists and the amphibious natives, the Merovae.

Robot Games
Talia is one of the rare humans who can use her telepathic abilities to obtain information from the future. Before ever having met Bailey, Talia has already seen fragmentary visions of their shared future and their future children.

Watching over Bailey and Dani from orbit above Elemacha-z are two powerful telepaths, Ienaghwy and Ylyndra. With their help, Bailey learns that Dani is a positonic robot who is being used a "bait" by Balok the bumpha in an attempt to discover the location of the the secret base of the positronic robots. Previously, onboard the Fesarius, Balok used advanced bumpha mind control technology to gain control over Dani's behavior. However, the telepathic creatures of Elemacha-z released Dani from Balok's control. Dani then immediately used the interstellar communications equipment at Port Cooway to contact the secret base of the positronic robots.

Nanobots of Elemacha.

With help from Ienaghwy and Ylyndra, Talia finally recognizes that fact that the telepathic natives of Elemacha-z have been editing Talia's memories and preventing Talia from discovering how the Noema have been able to disrupt the delivery of electrical power to the human colonists. Recovering control over her mind, Talia begins to make use of synapex technology to form direct physical linkages between her mind and the minds of others.

As described in Part 3 of "The Fesarians", Talia was previously provided with a means to amplify her telepathic abilities by forming synapex linkages to her two clone sisters. In Part 4 of "The Fesarians", below, Aethe, the clone sister of Xylo, helps Talia discover the telepathic abilities of the plant-like Noema. The events of Part 4 (below) continue immediately after the end of the events on Part 2.

Part 4 of The Fesarians (Part 1)(Part 2)(Part3)

When Bailey and Talia arrived inside the command post, the interior of the building was dimly lit by a few reddish emergency lights. They began to unseal the helmet of Xylo's cooling suit, but then Talia observed, "She's better off inside her suit. The temperature in here is crazy hot."

Bailey glanced at the external temperature readout for his own environmental suit. "It was not this hot in here earlier today, when I first arrived on planet."

Xylo and Aethe.
Talia checked the status of the cooling system for the Command Center. After glancing at the power flow data, she told Bailey, "The air conditioning system is off... all the available power has been diverted to communications." Then even as Talia was examining the thermostat, the cooling system came back on. She then rushed to the communications room. Dani was there and waiting for Talia. Dani told Talia, "I'm done here. I just got my message sent off. Now, I'll get back to repairing the damaged power grid."

Following along behind Talia through the dim red lighting of the Command Center, Bailey entered the communications room. Having heard what Dani had just told Talia, he checked the communications equipment and asked Dani, "Who did you contact?" Even as he spoke, he realized that Dani might not hear his question since he was still sealed up in his environmental suit.

Bailey glanced over his shoulder at Dani. Dani was not wearing a cooling suit, but she seemed perfectly cool and calm. As a positronic robot, Dani had no problem telepathically following Bailey's thoughts. She giggled. "I'd rather not say."

Bailey could hear Dani's spoken reply, muffled by his suit. For a few seconds Bailey reviewed the operations records of the interstellar communications system, but he learned nothing useful from the communications equipment.

Talia grabbed hold of Dani's shoulders and demanded, "Where is my sister?"

Dani made a violent slashing motion with her hands, knocking Talia's hands away from her body. "Don't worry about Lyssa. I'm a positronic robot. I can't harm humans... not even genetically engineered human variants like you and your clones."

Bailey turned away from the communications console and glanced towards Dani and Talia. Talia was rubbing her wrists. She shouted at Dani, "Bullshit! You just hurt me."

Dani and Aetha
Dani shrugged. "Not seriously. I must balance the multiple Laws of Robotics. You were threatening me with physical violence and so I defended myself."

Bailey approached Dani and insisted, "You better answer our questions."

Ienaghwy telepathically linked into the minds of Bailey and Talia and explained: Dani sent a message to the other positronic robots in the Hierion Domain.

Bailey complained, "I wish someone would tell me what is going on. What is the Hierion Domain?" Dani turned away from Talia and exited from the communications room. Bailey and Talia followed Dani back to the front entrance of the command center.

Ylyndra told Bailey: You've previously experienced contact with beings who reside inside the Hierion Domain. When the Enterprise encountered the artificial planet Gothos, you and the entire crew heard the voices of Trelane's parents. Those "voices" were actually a form of telepathic communication originating from the Hierion Domain. I spent most of my life in the Hierion Domain, before I was taken onboard the Fesarius by Balok.

Placing her hand on the front door, Dani did not bother putting on a cooling suit. She told Bailey, "If it is safe for them to do so, my friends in the Hierion Domain will come get me. For now, I'm pleased to be free of Balok's mind control. I'll get back to the repair work."

"Wait!" Talia asked, "What did you do to Xylo and my sisters?"

Dani turned away from the door and faced Talia. Dani explained, "I had to temporarily inactivate their conscious brains. You'll find your sister resting comfortably, upstairs in Xylo's bed."

Talia followed Dani's pointing finger. Talia was vaguely aware that Xylo's personal residence was on the second floor of the command center. Talia ran up the stairs. Dani turned back towards the front door. Dani again moved to open the front door of the command center.

Telepaths: Talia & Dani.
Bailey grabbed hold of Dani's arm, spinning her around and demanded, "Who are? What is all this mumbo-jumbo about positronic robots? Positronics? Is that some sort of new technology?"

Dani pried Bailey's hand off of her arm. "No, we are not new technology. Our history stretches far back into past Realities of Time."

"Time travel?"

Dani again turned towards the door, "Don't delay me. The resident's of this colony are suffering as a consequence of the power shortage. As a positronic robot, I must try to fix the problem. Even you should recognize the importance of restoring the power grid."

Dani was inside the small air-lock and heading out the front door when Talia returned downstairs. She told the robot, "That's something more than sleep. I can't awaken them. I can't telepathically reach their minds."

Dani glanced over her shoulder and nodded. Dani told Talia, "I had to take their zeptite endosymbionts offline. They'll return to consciousness in a few hours." Dani turned, exited from the command center by cycling the airlock before she went outside.

Talia pointed to Xylo and told Bailey, "Help me get her upstairs." They guided the servo holding Xylo's unconscious body up the stairs to the second floor and put Xylo on the bed, beside Talia's sister. Talia said, "The cooling system is working hard and the temperature is dropping in here. Let's get them out of these environmental suits." Talia stripped off her suit then she and Bailey pealed Xylo and Lyssa of their suits.

Bailey looked back and forth between Talia and her sister Lyssa. Talia explained, "We are clones. When we were in Starfleet, we trained as a telepathic team. Now, because of that training, I can usually follow the thoughts of my sisters, even when we are out of sight of each-other, but Dani shut off Lyssa's mind. When I suddenly lost my telepathic linkage to her, I panicked... I feared she was dead."

The Ekcolir Reality.
Bailey asked, "Do you understand this business of the Hierion Domain?"

Talia shook her head. "I suspect that you, me and Ienaghwy were selected by Balok because of our ignorance. Ylyndra is another matter, but I keep losing my telepathic contact with her mind. Ienaghwy, too. It feels as if something is still trying to prevent telepathic communication between me and the others..."

Bailey said, "I'm going to go check on Dani. I don't trust her." Bailey turned, went back to the front floor of the command center. He swapped out his suit's old battery and plugged in a new fully charged one. Baily then went outside. He could see Dani in the distance and followed along behind the robot.

Up in Xylo's bedroom, Ylyndra's telepathic mind again connected to Talia's brain. Ienaghwy is telepathically probing Dani's mind... when the Merovae altered Dani's positronic brain circuits, it allowed Iena some access to Dani's memories. Let me share some of what Iena has discovered. The positronic robots have studied hierion matter for millions of years and they discovered that some hierions can form bonds to leptons such as electrons and positrons. These hierion-lepton bonds are analogous to chemical bonds, but much shorter and harder to detect. The robots use hybrid hierion-lepton matter to form their positronic brains, which are essentially quantum computers using forms of stable hierion-positron matter. Iena has seen in Dani's mind that there are two positronic robots hiding in the Hierion Domain... R. Gohrlay and R. Nyrtia

Talia asked: Why did Balok send Dani here to Elemacha-z?

Ylyndra said: I don't know for sure, but apparently you know, from a vision of the future, that Balok is trying to set a trap, using Dani as bait.

Talia said, "My visions of the future are cryptic and hard to understand. I've seen myself, in the future, telling Bailey that Balok used Dani as bait. However, I don't understand the Hierion Domain or how robots can hide inside the Hierion Domain."

a tryp'At on Trypton
Ienaghwy said: I'm not sure the answers are in Dani's mind. Dani was designed to be a field agent, with very little knowledge of the secret robot base inside the Hierion Domain.

Talia told Ylyndra: Five years ago, I visited Trypton. When I was on the tryp'At home world, I got help learning how to use some nanites that allow me to form synapex links, physical linkages between the nervous systems of two people. In the past, I've sometimes used synapex linkages to my sisters as a way to amplify our telepathic abilities. I'm tempted to try using a synapex link to Dani in order to learn what she knows about R. Gohrlay and R. Nyrtia.

Ylyndra told Talia: Talia, I strongly advise against that plan. Dani's positronic mind has a strange kind of system for telepathy. I can't penetrate his telepathic mind. Iena has some limited ability to access Dani's memories, but cannot insert ideas into her positronic brain or influence Dani's behavior. With your very limited telepathic abilities, you don't stand a chance against Dani. If you mess with her, her defenses will activate... she could completely take control of your mind.

Talia took a tiny nanite containment vial out of her pocket. She opened the vial and the released nanites which quickly formed synapex links between Talia's brain and that of her sister. Talia was baffled by her inability to sense the minds of her sister, even when physically linked to their nervous systems by the synapex connection.

Ylyndra told Talia: Dani seems to deeply understand the basis of telepathy. He mentioned zeptite endosymbionts.

Just then, Aethe, one of Xylo's clone sisters came into the bedroom. She was still wearing her environmental suit. Aethe approached the bed and placed a hand on Xylo. She pulled off her head piece and asked Talia, "What happened?"

Talia quickly told Aetha about Dani and his telepathic powers as a positronic robot. "Dani can sense all of our thoughts."

Lyssa and son (just a bump).
Aethe pulled off the rest of her cooling suit and sat on the bed close to Xylo. Even touching her sister, she could get no telepathic link to her mind. Xylo and her cloned sisters were members of a genetically engineered human variant called the Huxy. The Huxy had three types of sex chromosomes: X, Y and H-chromosomes. The Huxy also had three genders: female, male and hermaphrodite. Xylo and her "sisters" were male Huxy, but all of the Huxy had the appearance of human females. Unable to telepathically link to Xylo, Aethe walked around the bed and reached to place a hand on Lyssa. Aethe patted Lyssa's belly. "I suppose you should know, Talia... your sister is pregnant."

Talia asked, "Really? You two are going to be parents?"

"Yes, as long as nothing..." Aethe said, "The fetus seems to be perfectly healthy. In fact, with Lyssa's mind now quiet, I can sense the limited mental activity of the fetus!"

Talia went and sat on the bed beside Xylo and said, "I want to try the synapex linkages again."

Aethe objected, "That was disgusting!"

The Clones of Elemacha-z.
"This will be different. I'll link you and Lyssa and I'll link myself to Xylo. Let's see if we can bring them back to normal consciousness." Talia began deploying her nanites. Sparkling wisps of nanite filaments soon linked the four women. Talia closed her eyes, trying to fantasize that Xylo loved her. They had come into fierce conflict over the electrical power distribution problem of the colony, but Talia had always been sexually attracted to Xylo and her clone sisters. Talia was a bit jealous of Lyssa for having so effortlessly taken Aethe as her lover. Talia now fantasized about Xylo's penis, imagining it to be a large and pretty as Lyssa had described Aethe's penis.

Aethe said, "Wow, you are right! This is completely different. I'm so horny..." Aethe pulled her penis out and pulled off Lyssa's skirt. Aethe felt Lyssa's crotch and said, "She's dripping wet."

Talia could feel her two vaginas dripping hot secretions and her four nipples were hard little bumps pressing against her shirt. She opened her eyes and saw a big bulge at Xylo's crotch. Talia quickly pulled open Xylo's clothing, releasing her penis from its confines. For a minute, Talia delighted in handling Xylo's beautiful penis. Then she noticed that Aethe was making love to Lyssa. Talia got on top of Xylo and pushed her big erection as far into her front vagina as it could go. Suddenly, Talia could sense the sexual excitement in Aethe's mind. "I don't know how, but our minds are linking."

Aethe said, "I feel as if I'm inside you, Talia!"

The tryp'At Hybrids: Talia and Lyssa.
Talia felt herself and Aethe slipping into an orgasm trance, but it was if they had an audience. Now Talia found herself in a group mind space. She telepathically told Aethe: Let's find the minds of Lyssa and Xylo. However, it was the minds of Ienaghwy and Ylyndra that Talia discovered, there as part of the group orgasm trance. For a time, Talia felt herself being swamped by their two strong and alien telepathic minds. And an even then, there was something else, a powerful and ancient mind that was plucking at Talia's emotions, forcing her to ever greater pleasure and ecstasy. Finally, Talia linked to Xylo's mind and she discovered that Xylo had long been attracted to Talia. Now the two women merged their minds and celebrated the joy of confessing their love to each-other.

When Talia returned to normal consciousness, she was draped over Xylo's body with Xylo's hard penis still inside her twitching vagina. Talia heard Xylo whisper, "The Noema are... plants?"

With the power of their linked telepathic minds, Ienaghwy, Ylyndra, Aethe, Lyssa, Xylo and Talia had made contact to the alien Noema. Talia now understood that there was a powerful telepathic species on Elemacha-z, a plant-like creature called the Noema. She said, "Of course! It was they who are protected by the anti-gravity conversions I made for..." Talia now felt quite foolish. All of her inexplicable behavior from the past few weeks could now quite easily be explained.

Xylo was still enjoying the process of exploring Talia's hot and slippery vagina with her stiff penis. She asked, "Who was protected?"

a telepathic Noema (center)
"I was a fool to blame the Merovae for our troubles. They adults never leave the beaches and the juveniles are harmless. I suppose the Neoma intentionally interfered with my cognition, preventing me from even imagining that there could be sentient plants."

Aethe was a trained exobiologist and she was feeling quite silly for having not realized that there were sentient plants that controlled the ecosystems of Elemacha-z. She told her sister Xylo, "Now that I know the truth, I should be able to quickly figure out which of the plant-like creatures has telepathic powers."

Talia told Aethe, "I know. In my mind I've called them the petarose. I always avoided building energy collectors on them. I told myself they were too pretty to destroy. Now it is obvious that the Neoma were in control of my mind, forcing me to avoid doing damage to any of the Neoma."

Ylyndra telepathically told Talia: The entire human colonization of Elemacha-z stinks of Balok.

Talia asked: You know Balok well? Could he actually have planned all of this... from the very beginning?

Ylyndra explained: Yes, it is possible. The bumpha have access to sophisticated time travel technology. I have no doubt that Balok guided you through your entire life by providing you with visions of the future. Balok brought all of us to this world for his purpose, to satisfy his desire to find the secret base of the positronic robots.

Xylo achieved one last orgasm and ejaculated again into Talia's front vagina. Now she was finally done acquainting Talia with her pent-up lust. She told Talia, "I've been wanting to do that to you for months." She glanced to the other side of the bed and saw that Lyssa and Aethe were still engaged in heated sexplay.

Xylo putting on the cooling suit.
Talia sat up on the edge of Xylo's bed and said, "I'm grateful to Ienaghwy and Ylyndra for helping us get past our silly squabbles." She kissed Xylo passionately on the mouth and then kissed her penis. Holding on to Xylo's big erection, Talia added, "I feel well and truly ravished and now Gyulya has requested a chance to play with you in bed at your earliest convenience."

Xylo laughed pulled Talia to her feet. "I'll add that to my to-do list, but right now I want to check on Dani and Bailey." The temperature inside the Command Center was now quite comfortable, cooler than it had been since the beginning of the power disruptions. Returning to the ground floor, Talia and Xylo began putting on their cooling suits, pausing frequently to play a game of kissing parts of each-others bodies before they were covered up. Xylo still had a rock-hard erection which she struggled to get into the cooling suit. She commented, "I'm still tingling from our sexplay."

Talia explained, "You had your first orgasm trance today. That's not easy to get over."

Ylyndra warned Talia: Be on guard. R. Nyrtia might appear in Port Cooway to access conditions before deciding if it is safe to collect Dani. I believe that Nyria is constructed from femtobot components and she can probably take on any desired physical form.

Xylo and Talia stepped outside and Talia pulled behind her another of the anti-gravity carryalls. Xylo led the way to where Dani and Bailey were repairing a power cable. Talia contacted Bailey by radio. He said, "We are making good progress repairing the breaks. Dani is amazingly efficient at this kind of work, but I'm worried that all our efforts will be wasted. What will prevent the saboteurs from making new breaks in the cables?"

Talia briefly described the group sexplay and telepathy session that had allowed her to telepathically contact the Noema. She told Bailey, "I believe I have discovered the true saboteur; the plant-like Noema. The Merovae were nothing but a clever decoy."

Dani and Bailey
Soon Xylo and Talia came upon Dani and Bailey just as Dani was emerging from a hole in the ground. Talia announced, "I've discovered that I can telepathically link to the Noema, but I want to try forming a synapex link to one of them and see if I can achieve a true meeting of minds."

Dani said, "There are two more cable breaks that I know of. I'll keep at it."

Bailey told Talia, "I'm really useless here. Dani has the cable repairs under control. I'll go with you." He asked Talia, "You know where the Noema reside?"

Xylo said, "I still don't trust Dani. I'll watch him." She followed Dani and helped the robot pull the heavily loaded equipment carryall towards the next repair location.

Talie replied to Bailey, "The Noema are all over the island, with the exception of the tidal lowlands." Talia led the way up the side of the nearby hill. Notice the transition here in the vegetation. All of this heather-like scrub near the beaches is fodder for the Merovae hatchlings. On the hills, the plants are of a different type." Talia led the way directly to a small bush-like Noema. "I've thought of this plant as being a "petarose", a name I invented, but I now know that this is the most advanced life-form on Elemacha-z." Talia placed her hands on the Noema. She could sense a telepathic signal, but it seemed little more that a warning  signal. "I always felt a compulsion to not harm petarose. I told myself that it was only because they are so pretty, but now it is clear: the Noema have powerful defenses."

Talia grounded the carryall at the trunk of the Noema. She explained to Bailey, "I want to take this Noema inside, where I can unsuit and make a synapex link to this creature."

Bailey grabbed the trunk of the Noema and pulled. "You should have brought a shovel. It seems firmly rooted."

Xylo collecting a Noema.
Talia said, "No, I think this will work." She pulled Bailey away from the Noema and pointed at the ground at the base of the trunk. The soil boiled up and slid off of the bottom most structures of the Noema. The "roots" seemed to morph into foot-like structures and the Noema "walked itself onto the flat bed of the carryall. With satisfaction, Talia said, "It appears that the Noema is ready to go." She looked up towards her home at the top of the hill. "Let's go to my place. I now understand one of my visions of the future. We now need Lyssa's help." She and Bailey guided the floating anti-gravity carryall up the hill towards Talia's home. Talia contacted Lyssa, "I'm on my way home."

Lyssa had been following Talia's actions by way of their weak long-range telepathic linkage. Now Lyssa asked, "The Noema will allow this?"

Talia replied, "This is all the Noema's idea. The aliens put the idea into my head. We'll see you soon."
