The Harlan Intervention

Tyhry and Brak

 Below on this blog page is what I'll call the story for the second episode of a science fiction fiction television series titled "Intervention". In episode 1, Rylla, Tyhry and Brak were sent to the year 1869 of the Ekcolir Reality by way of the Reality Simulation System.

In episode 1, it was confirmed that in the Ekcolir Reality, Tomas Edison's first wife, Mary, was used by the bumpha to alter the course of Edison's life. Rylla brought a copy of Mary Stilwell out of the Reality Simulation System. Biologically, Mary Stilwell is a Huxy, a human variant that has the H chromosome, but developmental nanites shaped her body into the form of a conventional human of Earth. Mary carries in her femtobot endosymbiont a time traveling femtozoan from the future that was originally derived from a long line of multiple generations of Huxy who lived in the far future of the Asimov Reality. At the end of episode 1, Tyhry and Brak have just returned to Arizona  after Brak's first adventure inside the Reality Simulation System.

Episode 2 (below) begins immediately after the events at the end of episode 1.

Episode 2 of "Intervention" - "Mary Harlan, Interventionist" (read Episode 1)

Tyhry and Brak returned to Arizona from the Simulation of 1869 in the Ekcolir Reality. Brak found himself back in his original body. Tyhry could telepathically sense that her sister, Rylla, was out on the back patio. Brak told Tyhry, "Thank you for that visit to the past."  They both looked through the window at the back of the house and saw that Rylla was outside in the hot tub. Brak raced through the back door and was quickly naked and in the hot tub, excitedly telling Rylla, "I met both presidents Harlan and Abraham Lincoln!"

Arriving at a more leisurely pace beside the hot tub was Tyhry, who was amused to telepathically identify Sedruth as one of the two young girls who were there in the hot tub with Rylla. Rylla was over-heating and she climbed out of the tub and gave Tyhry a wet hug. Rylla tipped her head towards Mary and told Tyhry, "Mary is an interventionist agent, sent by Balok to help with the work of Tomas Edison. Maybe you can make sense of it... I thought Nyrtia was helping Edison and the bumpha had to put a stop to that."

Tyhry walked around the hot tub and went to stand close to Mary and placed a hand on the girl's head. Tyhry was able to sense the time traveling femtozoan that was inside Mary, but the complex memory patterns of that artificial life-form seemed like a vast maze that sparkled mysteriously like stars in a dark sky. After a moment, Tyhry said, "I think this is a job for Sedruth."

At that moment, Sedruth (using the body form of Kate) was distracting Brak, giving Tyhry a chance to synapex link to Mary. At that moment, Brak was satisfied to take delight in visually examining Mary while fondling Kate's cute little breasts. 

Rylla complained to Tyhry, "Sedruth is acting strange. When we emerged from the Reality Simulation System, he continued to make use of the physical form he had adopted for use inside the Simulation. I had no idea he could even do that! Of course, he knows what is going on, but he's making me figure everything out for myself."

Taking note of the pretty little erections of Mary and Brak, Tyhry said, "Sedruth also got Brak a birthday present." Tyhry took her hand away from Mary's head, breaking their synapex linkage and then Tyhry took her sister's arm and led Rylla back inside the house. "We also confirmed that Mary Harlan is another Interventionist agent who was active in 1869."

Once inside the air conditioned house, Rylla quickly began to chill. She used clothing nanites to wrap herself in a soft gown then Rylla sat down at the computer workstation that had access to the Reality Simulation System. Only slightly irked that Sedruth was not there to assist in navigating through the complexities of the Ekcolir Reality Simulation, she manually brought up on the Viewer a replay of what had happened when Tyhry and Brak arrived at the home of Senator Harlan in 1869.

 On the Viewer display, Rylla saw that using a horse-drawn carriage, Sedruth had dropped Tyhry and Brak at the front door of the large Harlan family home. Rylla could see that Sedruth had apparently doubled Brak's apparent age for the Simulation. Rylla noted the elapsed time for Tyhry and Brak's visit inside the Simulation of 1869 and she muttered to Tyhry, "You stayed the entire weekend and on into Monday?"

"The Harlans were unwilling to let us go. I guess you could call it a successful weekend. Brak, Tad and Bill were wild and had a great time. I had to bring in to the Simulation three of my replicoids to help out with cooking and cleaning up all the trouble that Brak got into... but we got through it. Of course, Mary Harlan, as one of Nyrtia's probots, immediately recognized us as being outsiders and she quickly accepted the idea that she was inside a Simulation."

Rylla was vaguely familiar with Thomas "Tad" Lincoln, but she asked, "Bill?" Using the Viewer, Rylla had found a point in the Simulation replay when Brak had been introduced to the former president and was speaking to Abraham Lincoln.

Tyhry pointed at one of the boys who was on the display screen. She explained, "Mary's little brother, William Aaron Harlan. Only 16 years old and hell on wheels. He and Tad took delight in teaching Brak how to misbehave. They got into all sorts of trouble."

Rylla giggled and said, "I'm sure Brak had a wonderful time." On the Viewer, Rylla watched as Brak, Tad and Bill went up to the top floor of the Harlan home, an attic, where the boys had made a straw archery target that looked like an English dart board. Brak quickly learned how to use a bow to fire arrows at the target by telepathically lifting the skill out of the mind of Bill Harlan. Brak was particularly good at the game because he could use his telekinetic ability to adjust the flight of his arrows while they were on their way to the target. Rylla asked Tyhry, "What did you learn about Mary Harlan's mission?"

"She prevented the assassination of Lincoln and engineered the whole push by Lincoln for publicly funded higher education opportunities." Tyhry flopped into the big recliner that was there adjacent to Eddy's old computer workstation. "I want to ask Sedruth how much that boost to education was able to advance technological progress in the Ekcolir Reality." Tyhry could telepathically sense that Mary, Sedruth and Brak were playing some kind of erotic game out in the hot tub, but she resisted looking through the window. Feeling quite horny, Tyhry began thinking about bringing Anthony out of the Simulation of her nanite research facility in the Ekcolir Reality.

Scanning through the recording of Tyhry and Brak's Simulation adventure, Rylla found a late night play session during which Tyhry gotten an uninterrupted hour in bed with Mary Harlan while she was inside the Simulation System. As Rylla watched the antics on the display screen as the two sexually aggressive women celebrated '69 in grand style, Rylla mused, "These were both long-term, open ended Interventions. At first glance, it seems like Nyrtia and Balok were working together, trying to accelerate technology develop in advance of the arrival of the alien fru'wu."

Tyhry noted, "But Edison's first wife died before reaching 30... do you really want to call that long-term?" Tyhry could not suppress her curiosity about what was going on out in the hot tub, but when she sent a telepathic probe towards Brak, she was now frustrated by the fact that Brak had thrown up a block against Tyhry's telepathic mind. Respecting Brak's privacy, Tyhry again resisted the impulse to look out the back window and see what was happening in the hot tub.

Sedruth, still in the physical form of Kate from 1869, came into the house and all wet and warm, got into the big recliner with Tyhry. Sedruth said, "Brak has penetrated all of Mary's mysteries, but you'll have to wait until they end their play session before you can question him and find out what he learned. He now knows the mind pattern of the 'Mary femtozoan' and can trace it through the Sedron Time Stream."

"What are you up to, Sedruth?" Rylla turned away from her review of Brak's adventure inside the Simulator and scolded Sedruth, "Out in the hot tub you were egging him on. You are worse than that devilish Tad Lincoln."

Still persisting in use of the physical body form of Kate, Sedruth briefly transformed his head into that of Tad Lincoln. Sedruth told Rylla, "Using the Viewer, you failed to notice that I was playing the role of Tad for that entire weekend."

Rylla glared at Tyhry and asked, "You knew this?"

Tyhry giggled, "Sedruth made no effort to hide the fact from Brak and I that he had hijacked Tad's body during that Simulation run. I think Bill noticed a change in 'Tad', but did not complain."

Kate gave a delicate shrug of her shoulders. "Brak needs to start learning how to mix business with pleasure. Out there in the hot tub, I simply encouraged him to not be afraid of Mary. He quickly learned that even though she's an Interventionist agent, she does not bite."

Just then, Anthony arrived and picked up Tyhry and carried her down the hallway to her bedroom. Rylla complained to Sedruth, "Why don't you share with us the differential analysis? What changes did these two Interventions cause to the Ekcolir Reality?"

Kate giggled. "You still don't respect the abilities of the bumpha? It is quite simple, really. The Mary Stilwell Intervention canceled out the negative effects of Mary Harlan intervention."

"Negative effects?"

"Mainly on greenhouse gas levels. Anyhow, after just ten years with Edison, Mary Stilwell was re-assigned by Balok the bumpha to a new task."

"Really?" Rylla glanced out the window and confirmed that Brak and Mary were still playing in the hot tub. Rylla asked Sedruth, "What was her next assignment?" When Rylla turned her head away from the back window, she discovered that Kate was gone. Rylla requested help from Sedruth to search through the three days that Tyhry and Brak had spent in 1869, but Sedruth did not respond. Such silence from Sedruth usually meant that Rylla was wasting her time and thinking down a dead-end thought path.

Finally, Brak and Mary came inside, their faces and bodies flushed and both still sporting their spiky little erections. They got into the recliner together and Brak used clothing nanites to cover their bodies with a fluffy blanket.

Rylla told Mary, "According to Sedruth, Balok gave you a new assignment, so you let Mary die and just moved on?"

Mary replied, "You obviously know more about my future than I do."

Brak told Rylla, "I've familiarized myself with Mary. Thank you for such a wonderful birthday present, grandma."

From the way the blanket was bouncing, it was all to obvious to Rylla that Mary and Brak were continuing to play with each-others genitals. Rylla was tempted to give the two young lovers privacy and Rylla thought about going to Tyhry's room and making use of Anthony for a means to grab a quick orgasm, but Brak explained, "I've found Mary's femtozoan at its next mission along the timeline." Brak told Mary, "The femtozoan transferred out of you and went into your daughter, Marion."

Mary asked, "My daughter, fathered by Edison?"

"Yes." Brak explained what he had learned via his ability to telepathically obtain information from the Sedron Time Stream, "Your daughter arranged to be in Germany during World War I where she collected information on technical advances like methods for industrial scale production of ammonia from nitrogen gas. Marion sent a constant stream of technical data back to her father in coded messages."

Rylla asked, "That flow of German secrets continued through the second world war?

Isaac and Marcia.

Mary had lost interest in the conversation and her head had disappeared under the blanket. Rylla could see that her head was now positioned above Brak's crotch. Brak shook his head and he told Rylla, "No, the femtozoan from the future moved on to a new host in 1921. The femtozoan ended up inside Marcia, the sister of Isaac Asimov."

"What!" Rylla was shocked. Isaac Asimov had always been an obsession for Eddy and Rylla had thought herself very familiar with the life and science fiction of Asimov. "That's amazing. It forces us to wonder..."

Brak chuckled. "There is no doubt. I have clear data from Marcia via the Sedron Time Stream. Isaac taught Marcia how to read and they both began writing fiction at a young age. In any case, the "Mary femtozoan" was inside Marcia until 1942. That was when the femtozoan transferred into another Mary Stilwell."

Mary's head re-emerged from under the blanket. She asked Brak, "Another Mary Stilwell?"

Brak kissed the tip of Mary's nose. "That was the Mary Stilwell who went on to write for Star Trek."
