First Contact
In the Ekcolir Reality, Effie Woodward wrote a story in 1880 about peaceful aliens who arrived as visitors on Earth by means of a kind of long-range teleportation. That teleportation technology made what Effie called "hierion replicas" of the aliens, which, as revealed at the end of the story, were actually replicoids, "hijacked" from the archive of replicoids at Observer Base in the Hierion Domain. The replicas "arrived" on Earth while the actual aliens remained on their home planet.
The Trysta-Grean Pact |
When Isaac Asimov was growing up, he grew tired of the many stories about mechanical men (robots) that assumed man-made artificial life forms would become a menace, with disastrous consequences for Humanity. Asimov went on to write thoughtful stories about peaceful robots that would help humans.
Hana |
Conflict
The Exode Saga is about peaceful aliens who created the human species. A science fiction story about aliens without war and conflict? There is conflict in the Exode Saga: what can best be called philosophical conflict.
"The fundamental source of tension and conflict for stories set in the Exodemic Fictional Universe is the struggle between Interventionists and Overseers." (source)
Parthney on Hemmal |
My best source of information about Izhiun and the adventures of Hana in outer space comes from a set of information nanites that Izhiun provided me with. It was Ivory Fersoni who arranged for both Thomas and Izhiun to pass along infites to me, allowing me to understand the Genesaunt cultures on both Luk'ru and Hemmal.
Preland |
Hemmal was where the pek designed a human variant known as the Prelands in the First Reality. The pek intended that Prelands would replace the humans of Earth. After establishment of the Trysta-Grean Pact, Hemmal became a training ground for Interventionist agents such as Parthney.
Interventionism
Hana's family tree |
One task performed by Parthney before he departed from Earth was to teleport Hana off to the galactic core. Hana was not happy on Earth, having been used as an incubator for one of the Ivory clones (Hilde). Hilde was a difficult child for Hana to raise, but she eventually became an important employee at Space Energy Missions.
Deep Time
The Mission Collaborators |
I never got to meet Hilde, but I did once get to "meet" her replicoid. Currently, Nora is trying to arrange for the Buld space ship to return to Earth and haul away Izhiun and any other aliens who should not be present on Earth in violation of the terms of the Trysta-Grean Pact.
Jack Vance has been a major source of information about Deep Time. original cover art by Edward Valigursky? |
For many years I believed that the Kac'hin had been able to defeat R. Gohrlay and take possession of Eternity because the pek had engineered the Kac'hin to have a special type of telepathy powered by their zeptite endosymbiont. More recently, with the help of Rylla, I have realized that the pek may have originally planned to infiltrate Kac'hin into the population of Earth. Once on this planet, they could have set about genetically engineering a new "hidden invasion force" by making use of their ability to craft complete genomes for human zygotes. However, before that plan could be put into effect, the Huaoshy first discovered the replicoid system of Earth and then they learned how to use replicoids to infiltrate Eternity.
