X-Files: 2020 |
One month from today the new season of
The X-Files will begin. As a fan of
science fiction, I have mixed feelings about
The X-Files.
Chris Carter seems more interested in
horror and fantasy than science fiction.
William and the Next Generation
It will be interesting to see if in Season 11 they have a science fiction plot/backstory for
William. We have been teased with the idea that he has "paranormal" powers, but I still hope that we are told there is an "alien connection" and a "future technology" explanation for what makes William so special.

First contact: "Smoke?" |
I think
Mulder and Scully should gradually go into retirement, so I'm glad that
Lauren Ambrose and Robbie Amell will return in Season 11. I also think
Fox should make serious plans for a new
X-Files: The Next Generation that would start in 2020.
Aliens

what big eyes you have |
We are being teased again with blurry images of "
aliens". In Season 11, I hope Chris Carter has the nerve to not just complete what he has to say about the "alien conspiracy" but also lay the groundwork for a new television series that would be a kind of
X-Files: The Next Generation. If
Star Trek: The Next Generation could have both a robot and a Klingon as crew members of the
Enterprise, then a new X-Files show could have an alien as a main character.
