SIHA 2025

Tyhry goes to Hollywood.
Image generated by ImageFX.
Each year I do a Search for Interesting Hollywood Aliens and usually I come up empty. This year, I'm going to punt and write my own outline for film which features simplified Hollywood-style versions of Manny the bumphaTyhryMarda, Zeta and Eddy. The story begins at "Bumpha Base" on the Moon where a rather large collection of Marda femtozoans are being trained by Manny for a mission on Earth. The action then quickly shifts to Earth where Tyhry is growing up as the first telepathic Earthling.

Earth's First Telepath

{Credits roll over the Rational Wonder Films™ film titled: Earth's First Telepath. Slow camera zoom out from the title to reveal that the words "Earth's First Telepath" are displayed on a high-resolution computer display screen that is showing the following email:}

[insert image of Eddy Watson's cover letter for submission of his science fiction novel "First Telepath" to Rational Wonder Films.]

{Continue faster zoom out to a window beside the computer display that shows a view through the window of the surface of the Moon. Then the camera turns and the voices of a woman and a girl are heard. A tall and slender 12-year-old girl comes into view. She has long dark hair and is saying...}

MARDA: "Already? Today?"

Image generated by Gemini.
{Continued zoom out; now a woman is seen... the alien, Manny the bumpha, in her human form. She is very tall and slender and has amazing blond hair that seems to be alive and magically swaying and twisting from the top of her head and flowing down her back}

MANNY: "There is no reason to delay. Your femtozoan is needed on Earth."

{Marda holds her hands out to her sides and giggles.} MARDA: "I feel like I should wish myself luck."

{Manny holds out a hand towards Marda and a stream of sparkling mist-like femtobots move from Marda's head into Manny's hand.} MANNY: Your clone on Earth will have a great adventure."

MARDA: "I can't believe I'm ready. I've imagined several more years of training."

MANNY: "I've played a trick on you Marda. There are two dozen cloned copies of you. Each of you has specialized on a specific mission objective. All of your femtozoans will be bundled together and transferred into your copy that is to be born on Earth. Together, all the femtozoans have all of the information required for mission success. So I have planned it, so it will be done."

{The stream of femtobots that comprised the extracted femtozoan ends and Manny lowers her out-stretched hand. Cross-dissolve to the Marda clone who is already on Earth. The ten-year-old Marda clone on Earth is undergoing physical therapy for her Cystic Fibrosis in the aftermath of a recent hospitalization for a severe lung infection. On the wall is an improvised "Welcome Home" sign. Watching Marda is her friend Tyhry Watson and Marda's mother. The physical therapist, Tyhry and Marda's mother are all wearing N95 masks. The physical therapist completes her work and speaks to Marda's mother, giving instructions for Marda's continued at-home recovery. Tyhry and Marda go down a hallway to Marda's bedroom. As the bedroom door closes, Marda coughs loudly then asks Tyhry:}

MARDA: "Do you know what you are doing?"

Image generated by Whisk.
{Tyhry points a finger at Marda and a stream of sparkling femtobots leaves her finger and moves into Marda's thorax.} TYHRY: "No, but I've been practicing. And before you ask, my parents said yes." {The stream of femtobots ends.}

MARDA: "How soon will we know?" {Marda takes off her clothes and gets into her bed.}

"I expect you to show signs of improvement as early as tomorrow. That's why I want you sleeping over at my place. {Tyhry tucks in Marda and departs just as Marda's mother comes into the bedroom to check on Marda. Fade to black}

{Fade in on Tyhry's father inside the Watson family living room. EDDY WATSON (40s) sits at a desk, a 23andMe confirmation email visible on a large computer display screen. ZETA GOHRLAY (30s) emerges from the kitchen carrying two cups of tea. She has an ethereal quality - beautiful, but with something almost too perfect about her features.}

{Eddy complains...} EDDY: "I don't like it. She just spent a month in hospital. Almost died."

{Eddy takes a cup from Zeta.} ZETA: "Try to relax. Marda seems to be doing quite well." {Zeta sits in a large recliner that is positioned close to Eddy's desk. She sips the tea.} "I can't believe that Manny let your DNA get sequenced."

EDDY: "Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe there is nothing unusual about my genome. I bet Manny won't show herself." {a tinkling sound, like a thousand delicate class goblets touching.}

{The air in the center of the room begins to shimmer like heat waves. Eddy and Zeta both look at the optical distortion in the center of the room. Manny the bumpha materializes, but the reactions of Zeta and Eddy are completely different.

{Zeta smiles with warm recognition.} ZETA: "Manny! Welcome back."

Image generated by Gemini.
{Eddy is tense, rising to his feet.}  EDDY: "Now? With Marda here?"

{The atmospheric shimmer dissipates and sparkling wisps of femtobots coalesces into the human form of Manny, her tall and slender otherworldly perfection is evident, but unlike Zeta who appears to be a normal woman of Earth, Manny has some unusual features; clearly she is non-human. Her alien features gradually shift into a more human appearance, though her eyes remain too large, too knowing.}

{Manny speaks to Zeta, with genuine affection} MANNY: "Hello, old friend. You look well. Motherhood suits you and tonight you care for two children."

ZETA: "Tyhry is a joy. I know you warned me long ago to expect Marda to come into our lives, but do mission parameters include this sleep over? I could not say 'no' to Tyhry."

{Eddy shifts uncomfortably at this exchange. Manny notices. Manny speaks first to Zeta and then to Eddy.} MANNY: "With her ability to telepathically monitor your thought processes, Tyhry has you wrapped around her finger. She knows exactly how to manipulate your behavior. Well, Eddy, you loose your bet."

EDDY: "So, you know what I did three weeks ago?" {He gestures toward his computer.}

MANNY: "You finally submitted a sample to 23andMe for gene sequencing."

EDDY: "You will finally allow me to have physical evidence... proof of alien intervention into Earth's cultural development and human evolution?"

{Zeta chuckles and speaks to her husband.} ZETA: "Eddy, don't jump to conclusions."

Image generated by Gemini.
MANNY: "Your unusual DNA sequences have already been flagged for further analysis. A geneticist named Dr. Sarah Chen, a fan of your writing, has put two and two together. She identified genetic anomalies in your genome and she knows well your fictional fictional accounts of alien-induced genetic modifications described in your published stories."

{Down the hallway at the far end of the house, Tyhry is in her bedroom and telepathically "listening" to Manny and her parents. Having waited for Marda to fall deeply asleep, Tyhry walks to the living room.}

EDDY: "That's fantastic! I finally have physical evidence that-" {Seeing Tyhry in the room, Eddy falls silent.}

{Tyhry can telepathically "see" what Manny knows.} TYHRY: "Dr. Chen suspects that daddy's stories might be real accounts of the Secret History of Humanity."

{All three adults turn to look at Tyhry. Manny's expression shows something like pride.} MANNY: "Very good, Tyhry. Your telepathic abilities continue to develop, as I had hoped." {Manny crosses her arms and lectures Eddy.} "Do you think that Chen will stop with you? She'll want DNA from Zeta and Tyhry. If the government catches on, they'll take the DNA."

TYHRY: "They'll treat me like an alien? Turn me into a laboratory research project?"

EDDY:  "Tyhry, can you really telepathically read Manny's thoughts?"

Image generated by Gemini.
TYHRY: "Of course... Manny transmits her thoughts to me like a loud speaker blaring. I've been watching mom's and your minds my whole life. I can get the thoughts of anyone I care to link to, but Marda is my main concern. She does not deserve to suffer."

{Now accepting what he has long suspected about Tyhry's ability to 'read minds', Eddy speaks to Manny.} EDDY: "How is it possible for Tyhry to access the contents of other people's thoughts?"

MANNY: "I'll let Zeta explain that to you. I'm here to let you know that I've already erased the gene sequence data from the 23andMe company server. I made it look like there was a server security breach. This will be the last nail in bankruptcy for 23andMe and in the turmoil, only Dr. Chen will be left wondering about your genome. Expect her to pop in for a visit." {Manny departs, seemingly disappearing.}

EDDY: "Zeta, what do you know about Tyhry? How can she access our thoughts?"

Gemini refuses to make a video.
ZETA: "Manny provided Tyhry with advanced nanotechnology: kinites. Tyhry can place some of her kinites into a person's brain. They act like a receiver, resonating with on-going patterns of brain activity and transmitting the collected information to Tyhry."

TYHRY: "I started accessing mom's thoughts even while I was a fetus."

ZETA: "Tyhry, what did you mean when you said 'Marda is my main concern' ?"

TYHRY: "Marda is like you, mom, one of Manny's secret agents on Earth. Marda is part of my training. I've been learning how to reprogram some of my developmental control nanites. I'm using them to repair Marda's genetic defect."

EDDY: "Your training?"

Image generated by ChatGPT 5.
TYHRY: "Manny is teaching me nanite programming. Watch this." {Tyhry waves one of her hands at her own hair and it takes on the magical appearance of Manny's beautiful hair.} "Manny showed me how to use hair nanites, but I had to promise not to show off in public."

{Exterior Watson Home – dark evening}

A car pulls into the driveway of a remote home in the desert of Arizona. The car stops in front of the house, its headlights switch off and a woman emerges. She stretches after a long drive and approaches the front door of the house, walking up a dark walkway illuminated only by light coming out of the house through the large front window. Through the front window, she sees Tyhry appear to magically transform her hair.

{Interior Watson Home. Tyhry is playing with her hair nanites, not aware that she is being seen by Sarah through the window. A chime from the doorbell echoes through the house.}

Image generated by Whisk.
ZETA: {To Eddy} I’ll get that. A delivery this late?

{Zeta walks to the front door. Eddy returns to the chair near the computer, lost in thought, his gaze fixed on the email from 23andMe.}

ZETA: Tyhry, there is someone outside who must have seen you through the window.

{Zeta opens the door. Dr. Sarah Chen stands on the doorstep, a briefcase in one hand, a tablet in the other. She looks a bit out of place, slightly nervous but determined.”

SARAH: Good evening. I’m Dr. Sarah Chen. I was hoping I could speak with Eddy Watson.

{Zeta's serene expression doesn't falter. She takes a moment, her eyes subtly scanning Sarah.}

ZETA: {Politely} Please, come in. I'm Zeta, Eddy's wife.

 [Note: The video shown above was generated by Gemini. Click the video's volume control button to unmute the video and hear the AI-generated sound. Text prompt: "Artificially enhanced hair that waves in the air under its own power. Long blond hair that is dramatically flowing and is suspended in mid-air through advanced nanotechnology. Audio: 'Do you like my hair nanites?' " ]

{Zeta steps aside, allowing Sarah to enter. As Sarah steps over the threshold, her attention is immediately focused on Tyhry, who is now playfully manipulating her hair with a brush.}

SARAH: {To Zeta, a bit thrown off.} Is she your daughter? She has... amazing hair.

TYHRY: I'm experimenting with static electricity effects. I put a charge into my hair and really fluff it up.

ZETA: Tyhry, could you close the blinds?

Image generated by Gemini.
{Tyhry closes the blind of the front window then turns to smile impishly at Sarah and she used the hair brush and her nanites to generate a flamboyant flip of her long blond hair back over her shoulder.}

SARAH: {Slowly taking her eyes off of Tyhry's beautiful hair and speaking to Zeta.} I’m sorry to bother you so late, but I was quite shocked by Eddy's genomic data. It was… unexpected; I've never seen anything like it.

{Eddy, hearing the comments of Sarah, stands up. His anxiety is palpable.

EDDY: You have seen my gene sequences, Dr. Chen? You work at 23andMe?

SARAH: {Fumbling with her tablet.} I did, until I was terminated yesterday. I took a copy of your gene sequence data and came looking for you. It’s almost as if your DNA is… fabricated... artificial. It is like something out of a science fiction story.

{Tyhry puts the hair brush back in her pocket and stops manipulating her hair. She has sent an invisible swarm of her kinites into Sarah. Tyhry’s eyes narrow slightly as she uses her telepathic abilities to access the doctor's on-going thoughts. The thoughts are a jumble of scientific jargon, professional curiosity, and a growing sense of unease.}

TYHRY: {Speaking to Eddy.} You can trust Sarah, dad. She's a fan of your fiction.

{Sarah looks startled at Tyhry's confident assessment.}

SARAH: How could she possibly know that? I never mentioned—

EDDY: {Interrupting, his voice heavy with resignation.} Because she can read your thoughts, Dr. Chen. My daughter has telepathic abilities.

{Sarah's tablet slips slightly in her hands. She stares at Tyhry, then at Eddy.}

SARAH: That's... that's impossible. Telepathy is science fiction. It's the stuff of your novels.

Image generated by Gemini.
TYHRY: {Matter-of-factly} My kinites are already in your brain, Dr. Chen. I can see that you've read all of daddy's books. Your favorite is "Neanderthal Dreams." You cried when Kala discovered she was the last of her kind.

{Sarah's face goes pale. She sets her tablet and briefcase down with shaking hands.}

SARAH: This isn't... this can't be real. I'm a scientist. I deal in facts, in evidence.

ZETA: {Gently} The evidence is right in front of you, Sarah. May I call you Sarah?

{Sarah nods mutely, still staring at Tyhry.}

EDDY: Dr. Chen, what you've discovered about my DNA... it's going to raise questions we're not ready to answer.

SARAH: {Finding her voice} The Neanderthal markers in your genome aren't random. They're... they're organized. Purposeful. Like someone crafted your genome from that of a Neanderthal.

TYHRY: {To Eddy.} She's thinking about publishing this, dad. About having the New York Times publish an account of your unusual genome.

SARAH: {Defensive} Of course I am! This is the discovery of the century! Proof of some kind of sophisticated genetic engineering of humans....

EDDY: {Standing, moving closer to Sarah} And what happens to my family when that story breaks? My wife looks like a typical woman, but genetically she is a Neanderthal. What happens to Zeta and Tyhry when the government decides too investigate their genomes, too?

{Sarah's expression shifts as the implications hit her.}

SARAH: They'd... they'd want to study you three like lab rats. Turn you all into test subjects... objects of scientific analysis.

Image generated by Gemini.
ZETA: I'm sure Manny won't allow that.

{A long pause. Sarah looks around the room, taking in the normal family setting that now seems anything but normal.}

SARAH: {Speaking to Eddy.} Your stories... "The Bumpha Chronicles," "Galactic Gardeners," "The Zeptite Conspiracy"... they're not fiction, are they? Your alien character... Manny the bumpha... she is real?

EDDY: Manny is a good friend of ours and she has revealed to me the 'Secret History of Humanity'... all that I have described in my novels. I've spent twenty years disguising the truth as entertainment. I suppose that is all part of Manny's plan for the future.

SARAH: {Suddenly animated} But people need to know! If there's really some ancient alien—

TYHRY: {Interrupting} This isn't about aliens. This is about making a better future for people of Earth. For example, my friend Marda. She didn't deserve to suffer because of a genetic defect.

SARAH: Marda? {Looking confused} Who's Marda?

ZETA: A friend of Tyhry's. She has cystic fibrosis. Had cystic fibrosis.

TYHRY: Manny showed me how to program nanites that can repair human genes.

{Sarah's eyes widen with understanding.}

SARAH: You cured your friend? With alien nanotechnology.... {She seems to sway as if her equilibrium has been disrupted.} This is... this changes everything. Do you have any idea what this could mean for medicine? For humanity?

TYHRY: {Reading Sarah's thoughts} She's thinking about her cousin Marcus. He has Huntington's disease.

Image generated by Gemini.
{Sarah gasps, looking at Tyhry with a mixture of wonder and fear.}

SARAH: Stop doing that! It's... it's violating.

TYHRY: I'm sorry. I'll have to learn how not to offend your sensibilities of cognitive privacy. But yes, I could probably help Marcus too.

{The room falls silent. Sarah stares at her hands, processing.}

SARAH: {Finally looking up} What do you want from me? Why are you telling me this?

EDDY: We didn't plan to tell you anything. You showed up at our door.

ZETA: {To Sarah} But now that you know, what will you do with this knowledge?

{Sarah picks up her tablet, stares at the genetic data displayed on the screen.}

SARAH: I... I don't know. Part of me wants to shout this from the rooftops. But part of me... {She looks at Tyhry} You're just a child. You shouldn't have to carry this burden.

TYHRY: {Softly} I'm not just a child. I'm the first step.

SARAH: The first step toward what?

{Before anyone can answer, the air in the room begins to shimmer again. The same tinkling sound fills the space.}

ZETA: {Sighing} Manny's back.

{The shimmer coalesces into Manny's form. Sarah drops her tablet, which clatters on the floor.}

SARAH: {Barely a whisper} What... what are you?

Image generated by Gemini.
MANNY: {To Sarah, with a gentle smile} I'm Manny the bumpha. I've been expecting you, Sarah. We need to talk.

{Tyhry rushed to Manny who picks the girl up and hugs her. Zeta guides Sarah to a chair and Sarah sits down, her eyes fixed on Manny the bumpha.}

ZETA: (Speaking to Sarah.} Manny is trying to help the people of Earth, but we really have to help ourselves.

MANNY: I lured Sarah here because she is needed for the next phase of my plans. Tyhry has successfully demonstrated that human telepathy is possible and that she can telepathically program nanites. Now we must push ahead with Eddy's work of preparing the people of Earth for the future. Sarah, tell Eddy about your mother.

SARAH: My mother works for Amazon MGM Studios which is soon to launch a series of science fiction films under the label "Rational Wonder Films".

 MANNY: Eddy, you have long dreamed of having one of you novels turned into a film. Sarah will make that dream come true. Rational Wonder Films will fund and distribute a film based on your novel that describes how zeptites can make possible technology-assisted telepathy for humans.

EDDY: But I've only just begun to learn how Tyhry is able to read minds.

MANNY: Call your new novel "First Telepath".

{Marda enters the room, having been awakened.}

MARDA: Don't you people sleep? Its the middle of the night? {She notices the alien appearance of Manny's eyes.} What is going on? Is this a costume party?

TYHRY: The chick with the big eyes is Manny.

{Marda is suddenly able to consciously remember her femtozoans having been on the Moon.}

Image generated by Gemini.
MARDA: Yes, I remember Manny... from my... other lives...

TYHRY: Marda, you know your dream of becoming an actor? Manny can make it happen.

MARDA: Ha. I can't stay out of the hospital for more than a month at a time.

MANNY: That is all in your past, Marda. Are you coughing? Not any more. I think it is entirely appropriate that the first Earthling cured by nanites star in "First Telepath".

{Marda rushed at Manny and hugs the alien.}

MARDA: Now I remember! It is just as you promised.

MANNY: The hard work of you mission on Earth is just beginning. You will have to catch up on your missed school work while you have a busy schedule filming Earth's First Telepath.

TYHRY: {Speaking to Manny.} Now will you let me provide Marda with infites?

MANNY: Yes, you have demonstrated your ability to program nanites. But start gently with the information nanites that you program. Do not try to transfer too much of your knowledge into Marda's mind too quickly.

Image generated by Whisk.
TYHRY: Oh, Manny, you are such a conservative fuddy duddy. I've already Given Sarah a set of infites that will prevent her from telling anyone outside of the group now in this room the truth about the Secret History of Humanity.

SARAH: You are controlling my mind?

TYHRY: You will be satisfied to tell the world about the bumpha through fiction. That is how we will change the world.

Note: I provided the text of the story (above) to Gemini and had it make a "storybook" with scenes from this science fiction story (this is a pre-configured "Gem" available in the free version of Gemini). I was amused by what Gemini did with Manny's hair, but annoyed that the images did not depict the dark of night-time outside the Watson house.

Hair Nanites

Generated by Mr. Wombo.

 Back in early 2023, when I was beginning to experiment with generative AI, I had a blog post called "The Adventures of Japeth and Helyn" in which I jokingly mentioned the topic of hair nanites: "Bard, a large language model who worked for Victoria's Secret and had become famous for designing hair nanites that had revolutionized the fashion industry". At that time, the Bard Large Language Model did not really take seriously my attempt to introduce hair nanites into the science fiction story that we were collaboratively writing.

 Illustrating Science Fiction Stories. Here in this blog post (below) I return to the science fiction challenge of creating visual depictions of hair nanites and I put Whisk to the challenge of finding a way to make the actions of invisibly small nanites visible in a way that is suitable for illustrating a science fiction story.

femtobots and zeptites
Text manually added.
Whisk is a vastly more sophisticated text-to-image system than what was available to me two years ago. Also, I like to think that I have gotten better at constructing text prompts. I've also begun making use of Large Language Models like Claude to help me craft better text prompts. The two AI-generated images that are shown above ↑ on this page and to the left  ← were both generated by WOMBO Dream.

 Hair Nanites. Imagine that nanotechnology can be used to produce artificial hair. After the invention of hair nanites, everyone on Earth can have incredibly big hair that not only looks fantastic and feels amazingly soft, but also is constantly altering its shape so as to produce a mesmerizing, ever-shifting swirl of sparkling artificial hair shafts. The nanorobotic components of artificial hair can be programmed by trained nanite programmers. Hair nanites are nanoscopic machines that follow their programming and create beautiful hair.

Whisk-generated: The text prompt included, "many tiny LED lit buttons". Tyhry,
Aymy and Elyrix are onboard Sedrover and searching for the entrance to Eternity.
For my science fiction stories set in the Exodemic Fictional Universe, the "nanorobotic components" of hair nanites can be either femtobots or zeptites. In 2023, hair nanites were on my mind because I imagined that Tyhry had a special interest in hair nanites.

Mr. Wombo brushing hair.
In my science fiction stories such as The Nanite Smuggler, Tyhry is depicted as trying to obtain programmable femtobots from aliens. Femtobots are composed of hierions, a special type of matter that is only just becoming known to Earthlings during the time period when Tyhry grows up on Earth (The Nanite Smuggler takes place in the year 2040 when Tyhry is about twenty years old). One of the characters in The Nanite Smuggler is Manny the bumpha. Manny has "deployed" Tyhry on Earth and we can think of Tyhry as being the tool that Manny uses to introduce advanced alien nanotechnology to Earth. Tyhry is trained by Manny in the art of femtobot programming. From an early age Tyhry was impressed by Manny's artificial hair, which is a form of nanotechnology. Manny the bumpha has access to even more sophisticated nanotechnology, zeptites, a form of artificial life composed of sedrons. Bumpha zeptite technology can be traced back billions of years to the Hua.

DreamUp hair brushing. "Give me a hand."
 Visual Depictions of the Invisible. How can artists make visual depictions of something that is invisible? I've long struggled with the challenge of visually depicting invisibly small nanites in illustrations for my science fiction stories.

Recently, while making AI-generated images of alien creatures, I whimsically asked for an image depicting someone brushing the hair of a furry alien.

Gencraft hair brushing. "I can't watch!"
I was impressed by how much text-to-image systems like Whisk struggled to make images depicting the brushing of hair (see examples here). I expected that it would be easy for text-to-image software to make reasonable visual depictions of hair brushing. I was surprised to learn how much the text-to-image systems such as WOMBO Dream, DreamUp, Gencraft, and Leonardo can struggle to generate sensible images of hair brushing.

Figure 1. Whisk-generated hair brushing scene. Disclaimer: "No hair was actually brushed. We use hair nanites!"

L1. Leonardo's magic flying hair brush.

 I Don't Do Hair Brushing. In the case of Leonardo, it was quite difficult to get an AI-generated image in which actual hair brushing was depicted. Leonardo seems to prefer to make images of women who are just standing around looking cute. In the image that is shown to the right, each woman is actually holding a hair brush in her hand, but there is another hair brush just floating mysteriously in midair.

For these Whisk (Figure 1, above) and Leonardo-generated images, I included in the text prompt: "a futuristic living room fireplace and burning fire in the background".

L2. Leonardo phones home. Click image to enlarge.
Many other Leonardo-generated images did not even include a hair brush. In the image that is shown to the left, there is what looks more like a cell phone being held close to her hair, but no brush. Also, for L2, the idea of there being a fireplace in the background seems to have been forgotten by Leonardo.

For these four Leonardo-generated images (L1 - L4) a wide range of hair brushing styles was on display. In the Leonardo-generated image that is shown below (L3), each of the two women are holding a brush, but there is no indication that there will be any hair brushing accomplished, unless it is brushing their eye lashes. The fireplace has returned, but maybe these two ladies have better things to do than brush hair.

L3. Leonardo: better things to do than brush.
 My text prompt included, "one woman is brushing the hair of another woman while standing behind her", so maybe the word "behind" was interpreted by Leonardo as a request to show the two women in L3 from behind.

L4a. Mystery object.
My text prompt did not specify how the women should be dressed, so the text-to-image software was free to "decide" on what type of clothing to include.

For the image below (L4), Leonardo did not bother with clothing.

L4. Leonardo's anti-gravity hair.
 I can't view AI-generated images like the one shown in L4 without thinking about hair nanites and anti-gravity hierions. I suppose the Leonardo training set has images of women who have long hair that is being blown around by fans.

Figure 2. An alien
by Mr. Wombo.

The image shown to the left in L4 was slightly modified by me. I provided Mr. Wombo with the image shown in L4a as a reference image and this text prompt: "a tall and very slender alien creature, the alien creature has two short fat legs, glowing furnace light in the background". The mysterious object shown in L4a was in the original Leonardo-generated image. Mr. Wombo made the image in Figure 2.

Figure 3. Hair brushing by ImageFX.
 Synapex Hair. My understanding is that Whisk originally made use of the same image generating software as did ImageFX. However, the Whisk user interface recently changed and now ImageFX does not reproducibly make the same kinds of images as does Whisk. The image shown in Figure 3 (to the left) is typical of the results generated by ImageFX using the same text prompt that was used by Whisk to generate Figure 1.  ImageFX preferred to add a third woman to this scene: seated and having her hair brushed. In Figure 3, the hair of the seated woman seems continuous with the hair of the standing woman.

New Whisk user interface (Now with animation, mid-April 2025). Compare to the old interface shown here.

Figure 4. Tyhry on Sedrover.

The image shown Figure 4 in was created as a collaborative effort by ImageFX (spaceship interior), Whisk (the woman brushing) and Mr. Wombo (her face). I imagine this as a depiction of Tyhry on the interstellar spaceship Sedrover. However, the question arises: if Tyhry routinely uses hair nanites, then why would she need to brush her hair?

In my science fiction story "D*", Tyhry discovers an analogue of herself who lived in the Asimov Reality (Tyna). As a telepathic tryp'At, Tyhry is powerfully attracted to Tyna. Tyhry brings a replicoid copy of Tyna into the Ekcolir Reality. In my imagination, Tyhry an Tyna might simply like playing with each-others hair.

Generated by Leonardo. Tyhry and Tyna playing with their hair.

Generated by Leonardo. Tyhry and Tyna want to comb.

Figure 5. Generated by Leonardo. Click image to enlarge.

I can't look at images such as the one in Figure 3 (above) without imagining the possibility that hair could be used to form synapex links between the brains of two individuals. I slightly modified the Leonardo-generated image shown in Figure 5 so as to try to make the "comb" she is holding look like a futuristic device that might be able to form a synapex linkage using their hair.

Figure 6. Femtobot re-programming.
Tyhry's (left) original Leonardo-generated face was
re-generated by Mr. Wombo and pasted into this image.

 Body Modification. In "D*", Tyhry and Tyna explore how to use programmable femtobots to alter the form of Tyna's body. In the original Leonardo-generated version of the image that is shown in Figure 6, Tyhry was holding a plain black rod in her hand and Tyna's breast lacked any hint of a nipple. I modified the image to provide Tyhry with a hand-held device that is using programmed femtobots to alter Tyna's body.

Marda's femtobot experiment.
In some of the Leonardo-generated images, there were several combs and brushes that were not being used. For the image that is shown below in Figure 7, I had Mr. Wombo convert the Leonardo-generated brushes into futuristic hand-held femtobot programming devices. In my imagination, this could be a scene in which Tyhry and two replicoid copies of Tyna are trying to program femtobots and re-model the anatomical features of Tyna. Leonardo often goes to extremes with women's lips, fattening them up and painting them with the most hideous red color imaginable. For the image that is shown in Figure 7, I tried to remove the red from their lips.

Figure 7. Tyhry and two Tyna replicoids with hand-held devices used for programming femtobots.
The image to the right was generated by Mr. Wombo while I was generating futuristic hand-held devices.

 I consulted with Claude about the difficulty I had getting Leonardo to generate sensible images of hair brushing.

Me: Claude, examine the AI-generated image that I just uploaded. This image was generated using the following text prompt: "Women with long blond hair who are holding hair brushes in their hands, the women brush their long blond hair. One woman is brushing the hair of another woman. The other woman is brushing her own hair. A hot summer evening night background under moonlight."  The AI-

 generated images usually fail to show any actual hair brushing. Often there are hair brushes in the AI-generated image, but they are not in contact with hair. Claude, suggest an improved text prompt that is more likely to result in an AI-generated image that looks like a realistic depiction of hair being brushed.

Claude: I can see the image shows three individuals with long blonde hair in warm,

  orange lighting with what appears to be a dark background and a light source that could be the moon. Two of them are holding what look like hair brushes, but as you pointed out, no actual hair brushing is taking place - the brushes aren't making contact with anyone's hair. To create a more realistic hair brushing scene, I'd suggest this improved prompt: "Close-up of women with long blonde hair actively brushing hair, showing the brush bristles

 in direct contact with and pulling through strands of hair. One woman is mid-stroke brushing another woman's hair, with visible tension as the brush passes through the hair. Another woman is brushing her own hair, with her arm positioned naturally for self-grooming. Set during golden hour with warm backlighting highlighting individual strands of hair being pulled by the brushes. Natural poses with realistic arm positioning for hair

 brushing motions. Moonlit summer evening in the background." Key improvements: (1) Specifies "mid-stroke" and "bristles in direct contact with hair", (2) Mentions "visible tension" as the brush pulls through hair, (3) Describes the specific arm positioning needed for realistic brushing, (4) Emphasizes highlighting of individual strands being pulled by brushes, (5) Maintains your desired setting and atmosphere.

The experimental application of hair nanites.

Claude's suggested prompt (above) worked fairly well with ImageFX and Whisk, but Leonardo still struggled to show actual hair brushing.

My true interest is in hair nanites, not hair brushing, so I requested, "A woman holding a spray bottle on one hand and a hair brush in her other hand". Whisk then generated images such as the one shown above in Figure 7.

Figure 9. Hair modifying femtobots.
I modified Figure 7 by having WOMBO Dream make some futuristic hand-held devices that I pasted into the original image to make Figure 8.

For the image that is shown to the right (Figure 9) I began with a Leonardo-generated image in which Tyhry was holding a handle and added a futuristic hand-held device. Then I tried to make it look like a swarm of femtobots were migrating out of the device and into Tyna's hair.

For my science fiction stories such as "D*", I depict human variants including the Asterothropes and the tryp'At as having pheromone-like bodily secretions (such as oxypathin) that can enhance telepathic abilities. I modified one of the Leonardo-generated images in which Tyna had a protruding tongue as shown below in Figure 10.

When I was having Mr. Wombo make the stream of femtobots for Figure 9, the image that is shown below in Figure 11 was generated.

The remaining images in this blog post (below) are "womboizations" of "hair nanite" images that were originally generated by Leonardo or Whisk.

I used this prompt for having WOMBO Dream make HiTek™ hand-held devices: "photorealistic rendering a futuristic fractal complex electronic device with tiny embedded LED lights and circuits, the device is held in the small hands of a woman. A cloud of sparkling multi-colored mist droplets emerges from the device and flows into a woman’s beautiful blond hair".
