Flynt

Will the real positronic
robot please stand up...
Below on this page is Chapter 13 of the science fiction story "The Hierozyme Intervention". The events in the first part of Chapter 13 take place at Observer base where after six months of effort, Systolina and Tyhry1 have managed to prove that Tyhry's Viewer equipment (which can access data about the future) makes use of proton wires that seem to function as part of a physical link between the Hadron Domain and the Sedron Domain. allowing access to the Sedron Time Stream.

Tyhry2 visits Sydney at the Writers Block and mentions the problem confronting Systolina and Tyhry1: when they attempt to study the proton wires that they have found in the Viewer, those nanoscopic wires all disintegrate or retract. Sydney can offer a useful suggestion: that Systolina and Tyhry1 collaborate with Flynt, who built a positronic robot named Rynry. Tyhry2 is astounded to hear that Flynt and Rynry reside at Observer Base.

In my recent science fiction stories that feature Observer Base, I have often depicting Observer Base as existing inside the Hierion Domain and that implies that anything composed of Hadrons cannot enter into Observer Base. In these "modern" Exodemic Fictional Universe stories, humans (such as Tyhry) and robots (such as Systolina) who visit Observer Base are depicted as being converted into femtobot replicoid copies of the original hadronic-characters.  However, my older stories (for example: Foundations of Eternity) allowed biological organisms and positronic robots to reside inside Observer Base. Maybe Observer Base is complex, with the entire base shielded by hierions, but living space inside for biological organisms and positronic robots. Maybe human visitors to Observer base have been told that they are in the Hierion Domain, even is that is not technically true.

Part 2. The second part of Chapter 13 jumps ahead in time to when Tyhry has left her home in Arizona and is doing marine microbe research in Hawaii. Manny helps Tyhry deal with being away from Marda and Casanay. In order to spend quality time with Tyhry, Manny uses a zeptite replicoid copy of Tyhry that can be taken into the Sedron Domain. During these visits by Tyhry to the Sedron Domain, Manny entertains Tyhry by adopting the physical forms of various humanoid species who the pek and bumpa have created by directed evolution; they all resemble the Hua.

Part 1.

At Observer Base.

Flow loves video game destruction.
Tyhry1 told Systolina, "Watch this!" Tyhry1 was using her atomic force microscope to probe the structure of a component from her Reality Viewer. On the display screen was a vast array of nano-tubes that Tyhry1 had focused on. "Now, see my femtobots arriving?"

As Systolina watched, the nano-tubes began to fragment. "Your femtobots are destroying the tubes?"

"No. Those are my probe nanites. In the past, I've use them to study how a mouse's femtobot endosymbiont communicates with the cellular network structure of the brain." Tyhry1 turned off the microscope. All of the visible tubes had quickly been reduced to ruble. "Manny does not want us to find the details of how the Viewer links to stored data inside the Sedron Domain, so the tubes disintegrate when my probes approach."

Systolina suggested, "If those really are proton-conducting nano-tubes, then we have found the secret of how the Viewer links to the Sedron Time Stream. It requires positronics."

"She does not want us, or the pek to observe future events, so Manny is blocking us from using the Viewer in future-mode. And when we try to investigate the nature of that blockage, the nano-tubes self-destruct before we can learn anything useful." Tyhry1 suggested, "There is something we don't know about positronics."

Systolina laughed. "There is everything we don't know. It makes no sense that proton wires would be used in a device as sophisticated as this Viewer."

Tyhry1 was not so sure. "If what we know about Deep Time is correct, it was not until after the positronic robots of Earth discovered time travel that Viewer technology was developed. It must have been the robots that made those first generation Viewers. Sure, eventually the bumpha made a better Viewer that could look two Realities ahead, but Manny would not share that technology with us and Nyrtia. This must be the first generation Viewer that uses proton wires. But my attempts to study the Viewer have inadvertently destroyed the nano-tubes."

Systolina jumped up and began to pace around Tyhry1's workshop. Just then, Tyhry2 arrived and telepathically sensed the doom in Tyhry1's thoughts. "You two have been at this too long. Let's have a three-way sexplay session."

Tyhry1 tried to ignore Tyhry2's seductive telepathic invitation to establish a shared orgasm trance and declared, "I'm not giving up. There must be some way to probe this positronic circuitry without destroying it. I'll figure this out."

Tyhry2 could sense that Tyhry1 was locked in battle with a technical challenge and not in the mood to relax. Tyhry2 turned around and exited from the workshop. Still horny, she decided to visit the Writers Block.

In Sydney's room at the Writers Block, after along satisfying set of shared orgasms with Sydney, Tyhry said, "Thank you! I needed that. Tyhry1 and Systolina are no fun. They just keep getting more and more angry."

Sydney asked, "Angry about what?"

"The broken Viewer. Tyhry1 claims it is broken, that it used to show Views of the future. Now it only lets us see past Realities."

Sydney nodded. "I thought you'd given up on that months ago."

"Yes, I gave up. Maybe it creates a temporal paradox when Tyhry1 tries to view the future. Anyhow, I've lived my whole life without knowing the future."

Sydney tickled Tyhry2, "Or caring about the future. That is what got you exiled to Observer Base. For which I'm grateful. Although I wish you would share your tryp'At penis with me more often."

The tickling led to another shared orgasm trance then when Tyhry2 was cooling down in Sydney's warm embrace, Sydney asked, "Why won't Tyhry1 and Systolina give up?"

Tyhry2 explained, "They have a theory: that the Viewer uses positronic circuits. Tyhry2 can see nano-tubes in the components of the Viewer. Tyhry1 believes that she can eventually understand and repair the positronic circuits and get the Viewer working again so we can View the future. I know what drives her; when I was on Earth, I believed I could repair any machine."

Sydney sat up and told Tyhry2, "When it comes to positronics, it sounds like Tyhry1 is just guessing. There might be a better way to repair the Viewer."

"Like what?"

"There is a positronic robot here at Observer Base."

Tyhry2 shrugged. "Ya, Systolina is a positronic robot."

"No. She once was a robot. Now Systolina is a replicoid copy of her original robotic self."

Tyhry2 asked, "Which means?"

"There is a real positronic robot." Sydney told Tyhry1 about a group of refugees from the Ekcolir Reality. "Flynt knows all about positronics. He lived on Earth for thousands of years in the Ekcolir Reality and he arrived here with Rynry and M5, two positronic robots that he built."

Now Tyhry2 sat up and grabbed Sydney's arms. "Where is this... Flynt?"

Sydney rolled off her bed. "Let's ask Mary. She knows everything."

Tyhry2 got off the bed and started to cover herself with clothing generated by her nanites. Sydney told Tyhry2, "Don't bother dressing. We need to get Mary's attention. You are perfect for that!"

Sydney and Tyhry2 arrived naked in the central commons of the Writers Block. The residents who were relaxing and enjoying the commons were quick to notice Tyhry2's well-designed body and her four nipples. Soon there was a rather wild party in full swing. Eventually, the acting director of the Writers Block, Mary, became aware of the on-going party and arrived. Systolina wasted no time introducing Tyhry2 to Mary. "This is Tyhry2, the analogue of Tyhry from the current Reality."

High Seelie.
Mary nodded to Systolina and waved a hand in a sweeping gesture meant to encompass all the joyful partiers who were there in the commons. "I was told that you two started this little orgy. I really do try to keep things under control here and create a calm work environment for thought and writing."

Sydney was not interested in calm. "This was the easiest way to get your attention. You seem to spend all your time in High Seelie." However, Sydney was on a mission and not concerned with the management of the Writers Block. "I'm just glad you're here. Tell me, Mary, where did Flynt go after he left the Block?"

"Flynt?" Mary looked at Sydney with suspicion. "Is that what this is all about? You could have just asked me."

Sydney complained, "There's no other way of getting your attention any more, not since you moved to Seelie to live with Artep."

Mary was working with Artep to study hierion physics, but they usually worked harder at the important task of entertaining each-other. "Just ask Wendy. She knows how to contact me."

"Deal with Wendy's inquisition? No thank you. She seems to think it is her duty to protect your privacy.

"Why do you want Flynt?" Mary gestured at the partiers. "It was this kind of nonsense that drove Flynt away."

"I'm not going to pester Flynt with nonsense. This is important."

"I bet." Mary made no effort to hide her skepticism.

Sydney asked, "Mary, do you know where he is or not?"

"If you must know, he and his robots live out on spoke 14, near Nerville."

Sydney hugged Mary. "Excellent! I should have known." Sydney told Tyhry2, "Nerville is populated by people who experienced the accelerated and advanced technology of the Ekcolir Reality."

Mary noted, "Rumor has it that Tyhry has gotten into trouble with her Reality Viewing technology."

Sydney spread her hands out to her sides. "She's dealing with some technical positronics problem. Maybe Flynt can help."

Mary nodded. "I'll have to drop in on Tyhry again someday." In Mary's mind, 'Tyhry' meant Tyhry1. "She'd probably like to hear about the new hierion Artep discovered. But I better find Isaac."

Sydney leaned close and whispered in Mary's ear, "How about a quick tumble with me and Tyhry?"

Mary playfully spanked Sydney's cute bottom. "I'd love to, but since I'm here, I should tend to poor Isaac." Mary knew that Isaac had taken their old friend and lover, Annie, back to his apartment for a private play session, which Mary was now eager to join. "It looks like this party is winding down, no thanks to you."

"Yes, all the hot lovers have wandered away, back to their rooms or off in the gardens. Sadly, Tyhry and I have work to do." Mary turned and walked away. Sydney took Tyhry2 by the hand and went in the opposite direction. She told Tyhr2, "Enough fun and games. Let's find Mr. Flynt."

__

After some searching near Nerville, Sydney and Tyhry2 found the remote home of Flynt and Rynry. Nerville was one of the out-lying communities of Observer Base where the residents tried to avoid using modern conveniences. It was Rynry who opened the door when Sydney knocked. Rynry looked at Tyhry2's tryp'At features and seemed captivated. Sydney told the robot, "It's me, Sydney. We met at the Writers Block."

Rynry shifted her eyes to Sydney. "That was long ago." Her eyes went back to Tyhry2.

Tyhry2 told Rynry, "I'm tryp'At."

Rynry shook her head. "Impossible. The tryp'At are creatures of the far future, known only in fiction."

Tyhry2 was delighted by Rynry's lovingly crafted body. She moved close and ran her hands over Rynty's pretty curves. "You feel like a woman!"

Flynt arrived at the doorway and spoke over Rynry's shoulder, "Sydney? What are you doing way out here? Come in."

Rynry the positronic robot.

Rynry led Tyhry2 and Sydney into the house. Flynt's flying robot, M5, brought a snack and drinks to the great room and then when they were all settled, Flynt said, "I've never adopted the Observer Base convention of refusing to eat."

Tyhry2 sampled the food. "I'm newly up from Earth. I still enjoy eating, although the compulsion to eat and drink is slowly fading."

Rynry told Sydney, "It is nice to see you, but why are you here?"

Sydney explained to Rynry and Flynt that Tyhry1 had found positronic circuits in her Viewer. Flynt rubbed his chin. "But Manny suppressed all knowledge of positronics."

Tyhry2 asked, "Why would she do that?"

Flynt asked, "What do you know about the Time Travel War?"

Systolina told Flynt, "Really, Flynt! This is Tyhry. Eddy Watson's daughter. She knows what he wrote about Deep Time."

"Then you know that the bumpha went to war with the positronic robots of Earth. I reconstructed the science of positronics, but what did I get for my trouble? I was exiled here. Even in my own Reality, I never has a chance to share my positronic tools and inventions with Humanity."

Tyhry2 pointed at Rynry and asked the robot, "You are an actual positronic robot?"

"I am."

Sydney told Tyhry2, "This might be just what Tyhry1 needs to get her Reality Viewer working, so she can View the future."

Tyhry and Nyrtia on Earth.
Flynt commented, "I'd heard rumors that Nyrtia and Tyhry had received Viewer technology from the bumpha.

Rynry spoke to Tyhry2, "But it sounds like Manny has gone out of her way to deprive you of information about the future."

Tyhry2 explained, "Before I arrived from Earth, the Viewer was providing access to information from the future. However, it is frustrating... the future is vast. Without ways to correctly process data that arrives from the future, the information makes little sense. There are too many possible futures. An now, Manny is preventing Tyhry1 from even studying the components of the Viewer, so there is no way to get useful information about Earth's future. I'd like to know what is going to happen to my biocopy on Earth."

"If I did help you, what is in it for me?" Flynt asked Tyhry2, "Why should I go up against Manny again? That's like beating your head against a wall."

"This is not just about me. You are from the Ekcolir Reality, you know the danger of global warming. In your Reality, the ice caps melted." Tyhry2 explained, "There's something strange going on. In the previous Reality, global warming was successfully reversed. In my Reality, I was just beginning to tackle the greenhouse gas problem, but I was sent here by Nyrtia. We want to know what will happen in the future of the current Reality. It is annoying to have a Viewer that could show us the future, but it is not functioning correctly. Maybe you know enough about positronics to get the Viewer working again."

Flynt stood up and rubbed his hands together. "I'd like to help, but the last time I saw Manny, she told me to stay out of trouble."

Rynry reminded Flynt, "That was after Manny caught you sending information about positronics to science fiction story writers on Earth. She banned you from the Writers Block."

Flynt laughed. "I can't believe there is a way to defeat Manny, but maybe we could give her a black eye." Flynt spoke briefly to the flying robot, M5, "Please continue the zeptite code merging. Rynry and I will be back soon."

Tyhry2 called ahead to warn Tyhry1 that she was returning with Flynt and Rynry. When they arrived at Tyhry1's house, Systolina opened the front door. "Welcome. Tyhry1 is in the lab. She has arranged a demonstration."

Flynt, Rynry, Tyhry2, Sydney and Systolina found Tyhry1 in her workshop, tuning the Reality Viewer. On the display, was an image of Flynt in the long-past Ekcolir Reality. When Flynt approached, Tyhry1 asked, "Do you recognize this?"

Flynt glanced at the display and replied, "That was my Holberg lab, when I was building some of my early positronic robots." He gestured towards Rynry. "Rynry is the perfected model, my companion for life."

Tyhry1 explained, "This is my Viewer. If you are really an expert in postronics, then you can help me repair the Viewer and then we will be able to see the future."

Flynt complained, "All of my original equipment was left behind at the Holberg lab. In the Ekcolir Reality, it took me many decades of effort to get to the point where I could make Rynry."

Tyhry1 suggested, "But our positronics work should go faster here, now. Unless... tell me... exactly who are you? Even with the viewer I could not trace your origin."

Flynt laughed, "I'm a human variant, what your father called an Ek'col. I don't know how I came to be on Earth, in the far past before the Ek'col had ever been crafted. Somehow, I was infected with cellular repair nanites and I've lived a long life, pretending to be a human who aged, never staying long in one location. Maybe I was a mistake of some kind... the recipient of stray nanites. When Manny found out about me, I was quickly exiled to Observer Base."

"Fascinating. Do you have telepathic abilities?"

Flynt shook his head. "No. It may be that by not growing up around others of my type, I never learned to develop any telepathic abilities."

Tyhry1 suggested, "You may have had your body structure shaped by developmental control nanites... so you would appear to be a conventional human. That is how it was with me when I was on Earth. But now, living here as a replicoid, I have adopted by true tryp'At form."

Flynt noted, "When Manny brought me here, she told me I had been transformed into a femtobot replicoid, but I've never been able to alter my physical form."

"Strange. I've been studying zeptite programming. It might be that we could use zeptites to revert you to your true Ek'col form."

Sydney said, "I don't think Flynt is a replicoid. Years ago, when we were lovers, I became convinced that he is biological, or some bio-femtobot hybrid."

"You must be wrong, Syd." Tyhry1 sent some of her sophisticated zeptite probes into Flynt's body. "We are inside the Hierion Domain, where hadrons can't exist." Tyhry1 was getting data back from her probes. "I don't... my analysis agrees with your hunch, Sydney! I'm detecting actual cells, not femtobots." She told Flynt, "Most of you body is cellular."

Rynry said, "Check my body."

Sydney said, "There is no need to check. Rynry is like Flynt... she is not a replicoid."

Tyhry1 quickly confirmed Sydney's suspicion. "This is amazing. My probed are detecting actual proton wires in Rynry's positronic brain. I now have a way to study actual positronic circuits."

Rynry complained, "I don't want you experimenting on me if you don't know what you are doing."

Flynt assured Rynry, "I won't let Tyhry damage you. I need you, just the way you are, my dear."

Rynry announced, "And I'm happy with Flynt as he is."

Systolina said to Flynt and Rynry, "This is exciting. We have a path open before us. With luck and your help, we will come to understand positronics, repair the Viewer and regain the ability to observe the future. We will be able to discover what Manny is doing on Earth. And maybe along the way. maybe we can provide Flynt with a chance to recover and experience his true physical form as an Ek'col."

"Let's get to work." Flynt told Tyhry1, "Show me what you can do with your programmable zeptites."

Tyhry1 explained, "The zeptites are controlled by telepathy. First, I want to see if you can link to me telepathically."

Rynry suggested, "We should all try to link together in a shared mind space."

Tyhry2 took Rynry by the hand and pulled her towards Tyhry1's bedroom. "Tyhry's big bed is the perfect place for that kind of experiment."

For about a week, Tyhry2 was enthralled by Rynry who new dozens of clever tricks originally crafted for pleasing Flynt that were greatly appreciated by Tyhry2. However, Flynt, Rynry, Tyhry1 and Systolina were soon deep into a collaborative recreation of the science of positronics. The team believed they could out-smart Manny and there were daily visits by Nyrtia who was also hoping to gain access to useful information about the future.

Two years later, the positronics team was still going strong, but Tyhry2 had lost interest. She had no confidence that all their effort would pay off. Tyhry2 was about ready to make one of her regular visits to the Writers Block for a play session with Sydney when Nyrtia arrived in Tyhry2's home. Tyhry2 said, "Nyrtia! Why are you here?"

Nyrtia explained, "I made a strange discovery. Someone stuck in the Observer Base teleportation buffer." Nyrtia waved her hand and Marda appeared.

Tyhry2 exclaimed, "Marda!"

Nyrtia grabbed hold of Tyhry2's arm and prevented her from rushing forward to embrace Marda. "Slow down, girl. Allow me to introduce you to..."

What appeared to be Marda said, "You."

Tyhry2 was confused. "You?"

Nyrtia pointed at the woman who appeared to be Marda. "This is actually another copy of you. Manny teleported her up and for some reason disguised her as Marda. Have fun you two!" Nyrtia disappeared.

Tyhry2 asked this 'new Tyhry', "What is going on?"

The new copy of Tyhry shrugged. "I don't know. I'm surprised to find myself here."

"What is the last thing you remember?"

"I was on the beach with Carly... getting ready to collect water samples."

"Beach? Carly?"

"I'd just moved to Hawaii. I'd moved in with Carly, a researcher in the lab."

Carly and Tyhry.
Tyhry2 occasionally went to the fishbowl and observed what was happening on Earth, so she was aware of her biocopy's move to Hawaii and her enrollment at the University. However, when watching Earth, Tyhry2 put her most effort into watching Marda, who was going to school in Germany.

Since coming to Observer Base, Tyhry2 had learned some advanced zeptite programming from Tyhry1. Tyhry2 sent zeptite probes into the 'new Tyhry' and discovered that she was biological, but with her body transformed to have the appearance of Marda. For her part, the 'new Tyhry' was quite pleased with Tyhry2's tryp-At features.

Tyhry2 wondered, "I wonder if I can revert your body shape?" After a month of trying and even getting help from Tyhry1, the answer seemed to be 'no'. The 'new Tyhry' seemed to be stuck with the physical appearance of Marda.

Tyhry2 muttered, "I wonder why Manny did this to you. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to have you like this. I enjoy fantasizing that you are Marda."

The 'new Tyhry' had adopted the name 'Marda'. "I enjoy pretending to be Marda. It somehow gives our love-making less of a feeling of masturbation."

Tyhry2 found herself wondering if 'Marda' would age normally while Tyhry2 remained a youthful replicoid. Or, even worse, if Manny would appear and explain why she had created this copy of Tyhry. Tyhry2 suspected that there must be a good reason.

Part 2.

Arriving in Hawaii, Tyhry (no longer disguised as Marda) stayed in a hotel close to the university. The next day, Tyhry talked her way into a work-study position in the research laboratory that was studying ocean microbes. Arriving at the lab, she meet Carly, a postdoc who had been assigned Tyhry as an assistant for her research project. Tyhry quickly learned that Carly was Carly Deoch Sequana, whose published work Tyhry was already familiar with from her article titled "Carbon Only Deep Ocean Sequestration". Tyhry told Carly, "Amazing that you are in the lab where I want to do research.

Carly pretended to glance at Tyhry's CV. "I see you've already worked in another lab. Impressive for a high school student."

Tyhry told Carly, "I'm a bit nervous leaving home and trying to find a place to live while starting classes and this job."

"You don't have a place to live?"

"My mom placed me in the Alnilam Hotel. Having lived my whole life in Arizona, I'd like to find a place on the shore."

Carly nodded. "You are in luck. You can move in with me."

Tyhry's move was quickly accomplished. At 5:00 AM, Carly pulled Tyhry out of bed. "Time to collect water samples." Going down to the beach and collecting water samples became Tyhry's routine for the remaining days of her stay in Hawaii.

This first day living with Carly, Tyhry said, "Let me get dressed."

"Don't bother. Just carry these bottles. This is a job that is best performed naked."

Figure 2. Image by Leonardo.
On the beach, Carly pointed along the shore. "You go that way. With your help this will take half the time it usually takes me and you get in an hour of work before your first class."

The eastern sky was just beginning to brighten as Tyhry set off along the beach. She looked back once at Carly and enjoyed the sight of her retreating bottom. Tyhry wondered of she would meet anyone else on the beach. After the requisite number of paces, she opened the cap of a sample bottle and began to walk into the surf. She saw something in the water and looked down. Suddenly, a purple woman grew up out of the water. When she reach full size, Tyhry knew that this was Manny the bumpha. Manny said, "Sorry if I startled you."

Tyhry felt slightly dizzy. She wondered: Did I drop the bottle?

Manny replied to Tyhry's unspoken question, "Don't worry about the sample bottles. When you return to Earth, they will be ready and waiting for you. You and I have time to play." Manny stepped close and put her arms around Tyhry.

Tyhry felt her memories twist. With the arrival of infites from Manny, Tyhry knew that she was now inside the Sedron Domain, in a simulation of the beach that Manny had made. Tyhry felt Manny's amazing nanite enhanced hair.

That first session with Manny inside the Sedron Domain ended all to soon and left Tyhry wanting more. Like clock-work, rainy or clear, Carly and Tyhry went to the beach and Tyhry was taken by Manny into the Sedron Domain for another play session. During the third play date, Tyhry asked, "How did you arrange it all? Brining Carly to Hawaii, arranging for me to be her assistant, providing her with a beach house, getting her to do the daily sample collections with me."

Each day, Manny used a new physical form; that of some other Hua-like humanoid from some distant galaxy. Tyhry learned that while inside the Sedron Domain, the environment was susceptible to her wishes and conscious manipulation. Tyhry took to altering her own appearance, at first trying to make her hair special for Manny, later, Tyhry often adopted the physical form of an hermaphroditic tryp'At.

On this day, Manny was using the physical form of a humanoid that Tyhry was forced to think of as a gray alien, but still with Manny's glorious blond nanite-enhanced hair. Manny explained, "Yes, I put a huge amount of effort into providing you with Carly. I've put you through a lot, Tyhry, but I always reward my agents. Far as long as you remain in Hawaii, Carly and I will endeavor to keep you happy."

Tyhry knew to expect non-answers from Manny. "So Carly is just your puppet?"

"Yes, but just like you, she enjoys being useful to me. Why do you think she's so eager to get to the beach each morning?"

"Do you mean..." Tyhry contemplated the idea that another part of Manny might be entertaining Carly at that very moment in another part of the Sedron Domain. "Are you telling me that you are also Carly's lover?"

"And she enjoys it. And asks a lot fewer questions than yo do."

"But isn't there a risk that she will blow my cover? Suspect that I've never actually collected a water sample?"

"No chance at all. Carly is like your father. Carly can only speak to me about me. I think you have already noticed that when you are on Earth, you can remember our play sessions here, but you have no desire to speak about me." Manny took these play session with Tyhry seriously and Tyhry had no chance to ask further questions that day.

It was more than two years before Manny appeared before Tyhry in a body that seemed to have almost Earth human-normal skin. After a wild and quite satisfying romp with Manny, Tyhry jokingly asked, "Do you avoid using human-like skins for fear of boring me?"

Manny replied, "Yes, but also, today is a special day. You will be given your requested position in the lab for your senior thesis research."

After two years of classes and with all the course work she had tested out of, Tyhry had been granted senior status for the coming year. She really had not doubted that she would be invited to continue her research. During the past two years she had developed expertise is computer modeling the biosynthetic pathways of microbes and designing modifications to pathways that could be implemented through genetic engineering. Still it was a relief to have Manny provide confirmation of the next step in her future.

Tyhry asked Manny, "Is it really that easy for you? You know the future? Does it become dull and boring waiting for everything to happen?"

Manny kissed Tyhry on several erect and prettily flushed body parts then replied, "I don't allow myself to be bored. In your case, I enjoy sharing your experiences as you navigate through the world, usually not knowing what lies ahead."

"But you do know."

"Usually. Sometimes I discover problems that need to be corrected. After all, I've always given you a vast range of options and opportunities."

"So if I step out of line, you just push me into the behavior pattern that you need me to display?"

"Tyhry, why do you ask these questions? Are you unhappy with our arrangement?"

"Not at all. My research is challenging and rewarding. I could not ask for a better friend in Carly." Tyhry was not yet 18 years old, but she had falsified her application for attending the University of Hawaii, pretending to be older than she was. She had recently celebrated her 18th birthday with Carly. "Since I turned 18, Carly is as much fun as Marda ever was. I expected you to grow tired of me, but you are steadfast and true, even if it is only once in a blue moon that you tell me something about the future."

"I tell you as much as I can. Be patient things will get even better in the next Reality."

Tyhry felt the internal tickle that indicated Manny was actively altering Tyhry's memories and thought processes. Tyhry asked, "Did you just create a temporal paradox by speaking of the future?"

"Almost, but we quickly settled into a stable attractor that will get you the glorious future I alluded to." Manny hugged Tyhry tightly and a powerful wave crashed against them. "I will, in the future, once again call on you to pretend to be Marda."

Tyhry laughed and held Manny at arms length. "Are you serious?"

"Tyhry, you know about temporal momentum. As a reflection of that phenomenon, in the next Reality you will need to play the role of Marda. There is a man in that Reality who will impregnate you and help you spread your tryp'At genes. In that Reality, it is your descendants who will spread from Earth to millions of planets in the galaxy."

"Wow. It sounds like one of Eddy's novels."

"I will make sure that the terms of the Trysta-Grean Pact are adhered to. Towards that end, you must do your part. I'm doing what I can to make this be a great adventure for you."

Tyhry asked, "How will I reach the next Reality?"

Carly Sequana.
Manny explained, "It will make things easiest to have a copy of you there... a biological entity. I could use a clone, but this is part of the Manny Rewards System... sending you. The path will be a bit contorted. I'll first teleport a copy of you to Observer Base where you will have a chance to catch up with your replicoid copy who has been living there."

Tyhry asked, "Teleportation. When will this happen?"

Manny kissed Tyhry's mouth and telepathically told her: Would you be terribly upset to hear that I already made the teleportation duplicate?

Tyhry pulled back from Manny's hot embrace. "There is already a biological copy of me at Observer Base?"

"Not quite." Manny put her hands on Tyhry's hips. "The timing was not right. I'm holding your teleportation duplicate in a buffer, waiting for things to calm down inside Observer Base."

"My replicoid copy is in trouble?"

"She's stirring up trouble, trouble for Nyrtia. You don't need to worry about that, but by keeping Nyrtia tied up in knots, you and Marda will have the space you need to solve Earth's climate problem." Now, it is time for your 8:00 class."

Tyhry complained, "I can't believe that we are constrained by the flow of time when we are here in this Domain." But that session with Manny ended and Tyhry found herself back on Earth with a set of filled water sample bottles waiting on the beach. Now Tyhry was eager to get to campus and and receive the news about her proposed research project for the next year being approved. She appreciated having plenty of time to plan what she would say and how to act excited when her advisor 'broke the news'.

I uploaded the two Leonardo-generated images that are shown above in Figures 1 and 2 into Google's Flow as video start and end frame images and used this text prompt for video generation: 'A small purple humanoid alien creature arrived on Earth and is found in the ocean, as shown in the start frame image. The body of the purple humanoid alien creature quickly grows larger to the size that is shown in the end frame image. While the purple humanoid alien creature's body is rapidly growing larger she speaks with an Australian accent, saying: "I'll rearrange my nanite components and attain human size".' Mostly I got the message that is shown to the right, but I got one video which is shown below. Flow apparently ran into trouble when trying to generate actual images of the morphing alien I provided as a reference, so it made another alien and slapped the end frame image on at the very end.

YouTube now has this (above) "Shorts" format that is apparently designed for "mobile-first viewing".

Information Zeptites

Eddy is given infites by Manny the Bumpha.
Below on this page is Chapter 14 of the science fiction story "That Kind of Think". The events in Chapter 14 begin several hours after the events at the end of Chapter 13, when Sally and Antoine were inside the Sedron Domain.

Upon 'returning' to Earth, Sally and Antoine investigate the mystery of what happened to their biological bodies while they were visiting the Sedron Domain. Based on hints from Élodie's science fiction novel, 'L'intervention Infinie' ('The Infite Intervention), Sally concludes that she and Antoine must have been teleported out of Litheblanc, their brain structures analyzed, and their minds instantiated in the form of zeptite replicoids.

Chapter 14 of That Kind of Think - Infites (Ch1)(C 2)(C 3)(C 4)(C 5)(C 6)(C 7)(C 8)(C 9)(C 10)(C 11)(C 12)(Chap. 13)

Sally and Antoine returned to Litheblanc in much the same fashion they had departed; suddenly they were again on Earth. They were asleep and laying together on the soft green grass of a small rocky knoll about a quarter mile from Litheblanc. Sally sat up, stretched and gazed out across the rock-strewn field to where Litheblanc could be seen in the distance,  a bright white brick looking like it had been dropped into France by a giant. It was obvious why the house had been named 'The House of the White Stone' by its earliest residents, who spoke a language older than modern French.

Antoine was watching Sally as he shifted from sleep to waking consciousness. He immediately tried to push his hand into her body, but he met with the normal resistance of her strong soft body. Sally was in her late forties, but she had the physical appearance of a young woman of twenty-five, at the peak of her physical prowess. Sally pulled her eyes off of Litheblanc, turned her head and looked into Antoine's eyes. "That was fun."

Antoine knew that Sally was making reference to the play session that she and Antoine had enjoyed with what appeared to be a Hua. Antoine thought about the body features of the Hua, which were very similar to what Élodie had described in her stories for the appearance of the tryp'At. Antoine and Sally stood and walked of the knoll in the direction of Litheblanc. Antoine was hungry and he hoped they were back in time for dinner. "How did that work out for you?"

Sally knew exactly what Antoine was asking about. While in the Sedron Domain, Sally has wished for and received a penis and had used it to thoroughly explore the Hua's two vaginas. "My orgasms exceeded all of my expectations. I'm eager to return to the Sedron Domain."

"Do you think Manny gave us oxypathin receptors that respond to Hua oxypathin or were the effects of the Hua's sex hormones somehow simulated?" Antoine was thinking about the Hua's lower pair of breasts which had produced a stick pink secretion. "Would it have worked no matter what?"

"I suppose we can just ask such questions the next time we are inside the Sedron Domain. It seemed to me that anything I could imagine would happen."

Antoine asked, "But how do we know that any of it happened?"

A tryp'At hermaphrodite.
"We don't know for sure." Sally could only reflect on her memories and what seemed to have happened." In some of Élodie's stories like 'L'intervention Infinie', people are depicted as being provided with artificial memories."

"How would that work?" Antoine suggested, "Manny sends information nanites into a person's brain and they enter that individual's femtobot endosymbiont? Then those artificial memories are available to be 'remembered', without there ever having been an actual experience?"

"That sounds like what happened to Eddy Watson."

"And Eddy was Élodie's alter-ego. But why wasn't that infite technique used by Manny to get Mady to help Yto?"

Sally could only speculate. "With Yto inside Anthropic, it was too delicate of a situation. Manny was threading a needle. In the case of allowing Élodie to write science fiction novels, the infites did not specify the text of the novels, they provided her with key concepts which Élodie then put into her stories."

"And what about you and I? Are our memories of having visited the Sedron Domain real, or simply something Manny provided for us?"

"I have to assume we actually were in the Sedron Domain, our minds instantiated as zeptites, our bodies formed from sedronic matter and simulating our human bodies. That's how we must depict it in our fiction. We are playing and important role in moving Humanity towards the goal of transcendence into the Sedron Domain." They had reached to back entrance to Litheblanc. Sally placed a hand on Antoine's arm. "I always tell Glen everything. We have no secrets."

Antoine reflected on the fact that during their play session with the Hua, he had gotten rather carried away. Under the influence of the Hua sex hormones, Antoine had not paused to think before ravishing Sally. "Glen better not ask me to apologize for what I did. I don't regret it."

Infites.
Sally told Antoine, "Well, I can't predict what Glen will do. You are the only other man to make love to me since I've been with him, and I don't know if he will be jealous."

"So you have told Glen about the Sedron Domain observatory?"

"Yes, I've told him."

"Then just tell Glen that you will take him with you the next time you visit the Sedron Domain. Tell him you'll make it up to him." Antoine could smell dinner. He opened the door and went to the dinning room.

The others were eating dessert when Sally and Antoine entered the dinning room and sat at the table. Almost instantly, Rylla arrived placed dishes and utensils on the table for them. The robot apologized, "Q1 told me that you would not be here for dinner."

Glen asked Sally, "You made use of the observatory?"

"Yes, we just returned from the Sedron Domain."

Élodie asked, "What was it like?"

Sally seemed to hesitate, so Antoine replied with a question of his own, "Élodie, why did you avoid depicting the Huaoshy in you stories?"

Élodie tried to recall the long-gone time when she had first become aware of the Huaoshy. "They were just a place-keeper. I wanted to write stories about Nyrtia and Manny. If I include an airplane in a story, I don't also include the builder of the airplane."

Sally told Antoine, "Élodie's novel, 'Le contrebandier de nanites', the zeptite replicoid copies of Eddy and Zeta transcended into the Sedron Domain and visited the Huaoshy home world."

Élodie added, "But Antoine is correct, even in 'The Nanite Smuggler', I never tried to describe what it was like for Eddy and Zeta to be in the Sedron Domain. I wanted to write stories about the universe as we know it and subjects that would be of interest to my readers."

"But now the people of Earth are making plans for departing from Earth and entering the Sedron Domain."

Sally laughed and some of the food she was eating fell out of her mouth and landed back on her plate. After swallowing, she said, "When Antoine and I arrived in the Sedron Domain, we found ourselves here, still inside Litheblanc!"

Antoine added, "Well, a copy of Litheblanc that was made of sedrons, as were we. I could walk through walls if I wanted to."

Zach shook his head. "It sounds like another simulation. Can you prove that you were actually in the Sedron Domain?"

Antoine was busy eating. Sally replied to Zach's question. "Proof is an argument that people accept. I'll have to make the argument for the reality of the Sedron Domain in my next novel."

Brak complained, "Why to people believe things that are fiction, in novels? Is it nothing more than a game of wish-fulfillment?"

Élodie reflected, "Now that millions of copies of my novels have been sold, I get to read what my fans say. For many people, there seems to be a religious angle. It is almost as if religions have been laying a foundation for belief in the Sedron Domain. Some people are explicitly describing the Sedron Domain as matching their concept of heaven."

Sally mused, "My visit to the Sedron Domain was heavenly. I got to have sex with a Hua."

Élodie laughed and asked, "Did her appearance match what I described in 'The Hua Nanites'?"

Marda asked Antoine, "Did you also have sex with the alien?" From across the table, Antoine nodded in reply.

Sally replied to Élodie's question, "Pretty much. She had four breasts, just as you describe for the tryp'At."

Brak asked, "Can we all use the observatory to visit the Sedron Domain?"

Annette replied to Brak's question, "I asked that question as soon as the Q admitted that Sally and Antoine were no longer on Earth. Even when I got pushy and insisted that the Q send me into the Sedron Domain, they refused. Apparently, Manny is acting as a gate-keeper. Manny wanted Sally and Antoine to experience the Sedron Domain so they can write about it. The rest of us have no similar pressing reason to see the Sedron Domain that can't be satisfied by simulation."

Antoine set down his fork. "Manny expects everyone here to function as a founding population for the directed evolution of the tryp'At."

Élodie stood up and patted her abdomen. "On that note, I have an announcement. I'm pregnant again."

Tyhry jumped up, went to her mother and placed a hand against Élodie's abdomen. "I don't believe it. You are as skinny as ever."

"It is early... your brother is still quite small."

"Brother."

Élodie told Tyhry, "Just as I knew that you would be my second child, I've long known that my third baby would be a boy."

__

After dinner was over, Sally and Antoine went into the great room. As soon as they sat down, in walked Pryderi, the model P robot who was Sally's personal assistant. Seeing that Antoine was using the chair that he usually used, Pryderi simple bent his legs and pretended to be sitting on a chair. "Welcome back. The Q told my that you went off on an adventure in the Sedron Domain."

Sally was thinking about her new novel. "Pry, we need to plan the new novel around a new reality. Antoine will be a co-author and he wants to write about alien technology such as femtobots. Having returned from the Sedron Domain, we need a coherent theory of how our experiences in the Sedron Domain were transferred to us here and made accessible to us in out biological bodies. I'm thinking that this might be an opportunity to deploy Élodie's old idea of a zeptozoan."

Pryderi had been explicitly programmed by Sally to do more listening than talking. Pryderi watched Antoine and gave him time to think and reply. Antoine thought about Élodie's novel, 'The RNA Seeds'. "When I first read 'Les graines d'ARN', I wondered if Élodie had give Zeta the name 'Zeta' because of her zeptozoan."

Sally giggled. "Antoine, you have such a literal mind."

Antoine asked, "Did Élodie ever depict anyone besides Zeta as having a zeptozoan?"

Pryderi proceeded to rattle of a citation to every published mention of zeptozoans. When the robot started to list all of the examples of femtozoans, Sally raised a single finger and the robot fell silent. Sally said, "Élodie always depicted zeptozoans as being sub-nanoscopic life-forms, but I want to break that mold."

Antoine asked Sally, "What is the difference between a large zeptozoan and a bumpha such as Manny?"

When Sally shook her head, Pryderi said, "There is no reason to suppose that Manny is only made of sedrons. She might very well have some femtobot components composed of hierions."

Now Sally nodded. "And I want to depict the Huaoshy as being able to send zeptozoans to Earth. Zeptozoans that can be the eyes and ears of the Huaoshy. Zeptozoans that can be large and disguise themselves as humans."

Antoine said, "You are devising a way for the Huaoshy to visit Earth."

"Exactly. I've never accepted the idea that the Huaoshy never leave the Sedron Domain. That is absurd."

"But our cute Hua said that the Huaoshy had waited patiently for 4,000,000,000 years to meet a human."

"Well, it is not going to be that way in our new novel." At that point, Pryderi began asking a long series of questions about Sally's adventure in the Sedron Domain. Finally, Sally told the robot, "That's more than enough questions. Maybe some day you can talk Manny into sending you into the Sedron Domain."

Pryderi noted, "When I experience simulations of the Sedron Domain, I have experiences similar to what you have described."

Antoine often wondered about the subjective experiences of robots. "For we humans, our simulation experiences are rather low-fidelity and dream-like. While inside the Sedron Domain, I was fully awake and had rich sensory experiences." He thought about the orgasm trance he had shared with Sally and the Hua. "Richer than anything I can experience here on Earth in this biological body."

Sally warned Antoine, "Don't remind me. Hearing you mention Sedron Domain orgasms is making me very horny."

Pryderi asked Sally, "So, a zeptozoan arrives from the Sedron Domain and adopts human form. In your new novel, who is this imposter?"

Sally explained, "I've already established that Mady was Manny in disguise. There is a symmetry at work. Élodie depicted Zeta Gohrlay as having a zeptozoan inside her. In reality, the model for Zeta is Zach. Think about it, it was Zach who acted as the gate-keeper and brought me to Litheblanc. It was Zach who found Litheblanc and bought it as a gift for Élodie. Zack has always come and gone to and from Litheblanc."

Antoine noted, "Zach always provided for Élodie, even while her books made no money. I've never understood... where did Zach get all  his money?"

Pryderi began explaining Zach's education, his business degrees and his business dealings and investments. Once again Sally lifted a finger to silence Pryderi. "Zach becomes easy to explain if he is a zeptozoan."

Antoine said, "But you can't include Zach in your story."

"Why not?"

"He's too well known. Zach is not like me, he travels all around France, meets with business associates. I've never been more than ten miles from Litheblanc. If you use his name in your story and describe him as an alien artificial life-form living on Earth, then he could be traced through public records to Litheblanc."

Sally explained, "I can write a story about Zach without using his name."

Pryderi suggested, "You could use 'Z.K. Levallois' as an alternative to Zach's real name."

Antoine asked, "Why 'z' and 'k'?"

Pryderi, "The 'z' is a token callback to 'Zach'. I was actually thinking about the Star Trek character, 'Zek'... there is the 'k'. Don't tell Zach that he made me think of the Ferengi, Zek."

Antoine asked Sally,"For your story, are you going to adopt the idea that Zach is half Neanderthal?"

"No." Sally was emphatic. "Élodie did that for Zeta Gohrlay. Mr. Z.K. Levallois has enough on his plate, being a zeptozoan."

Antoine said, "If I am understanding your scheme, then Levallois has to have played a role in the robot revolution of twenty years ago."

Sally nodded. "The story begins with Mady/Manny helping Yto inside Anthropic. Yto's 'outside man' was in academia, an artificial intelligence researcher named Van Edwards. He is still active and I can't use his name, but I can transform him into Z.K. Levallois."

Antoine thought he knew the history of the robot revolution. "Who was Van Edwards?"

Pryderi replied to Antoine's question by launching into a recital of Van's life story. Sally lifted her finger to silence the robot. "In my story, Van is the seed, but Levallois will be the university professor who makes it possible for Nidus to escape and being the robot revolution. My story will clearly show that 'Levallois' was a Huaoshy zeptozoan who held the pek in check and allowed Manny to transfer key alien technology to first the AI models Tacet and Nidus and subsequently robots like Nida."

Antoine asked, "You will depict the origin of the robot revolution as directly stemming from the Huaoshy?"

"Almost! Manny was the key mover, but at the critical moment, the Huaoshy had to step in. Élodie created the Rules of Intervention, but she never actually depicted a legal case where there was a dispute between the pek and bumpha. I will write the story of how the pek tried to prevent Manny from sending future information to robots and how the Huaoshy decided in favor of Manny's scheme."

Pryderi asked Sally, "Do you think that is how it really went down?"

Antoine said, "The next time I see Manny, I'll ask her."

Sally spoke to Pryderi: "Did the Q tell you that Nyrtia made an appearance in the attic?"

Pryderi replied, "Yes, they did. Since Nyrtia showed up just before you went into the Sedron Domain, I had the feeling that Nyrtia sent you into the Sedron Domain."

Antoine shook his head. "No, I don't think the pek have that ability."

Sally added, "Nor do the bumpha. Both the pek and the bumpha were designed by the Huaoshy to exist and function here, in the Hadron Domain."

Pryderi said, "I see."

Sally told Antoine, "It all makes sense, the whole robot revolution traces back to Nidus, the novel AI model that was made by Van. In my story, the Nidus model originated in the future and was brought back through time by Levallois the zeptozoan in order to start the robot revolution sooner than it would otherwise have begun."

Antoine said, "Very elegant. Why do you need me as a co-author?"

"You need to handle the alien technology details. You, Marda and Tyhry have been trying to get your hands on femtobots. You've grown up thinking about programming femtobots. You can take that experience and infuse it into our new novel. You need to explain to readers exactly how zeptites and femtobots were used to start the robot revolution."

"I wish I knew."

Information from the Future.
Sally laughed and stood up. "This is fiction. Just make up a good story." She was horny. She told Antoine, "Have Pryderi talk you through all of my existing plans and notes for the new novel." Sally departed from the great room and found Glen upstairs in their suite. After their love-making, Sally was more tired than horny and Glen was in a frame of mind that made it fairly easy to accept the fact that Sally's zeptite replicoid in the Sedron Domain had sex with Antoine's replicoid.

In the middle of the night, Glen asked Sally, "Are you going to be able to work collaboratively with Antoine?'

"We've always gotten along just fine. I'm expecting that Manny will keep him off of me. We've started dividing up the writing of the new novel. Out interests seem complementary." She told Glen about the role for a zeptozoan in the story.

Glen was puzzled. "Why insert the Huaoshy into the history of robotics? Even you don't believe it."

Sally and Glen had often discussed how Hollywood movies had shaped perceptions of space aliens. "There is basic human psychology in play here. I need to show the Huaoshy operating on Earth."

"But that never happens."

"It is only important to show the people of Earth the the Huaoshy are not to be feared. They can't remain as unknowns in the Sedron Domain without provoking doubt and fears."

"So you bring them to Earth in your fiction, just to trick people into trusting the Huaoshy."

"Think of it as education, not trickery. The Huaoshy created a system that generated the human species. That system and its grinding evolutionary process took billions of years. That the Huaoshy made that happen is why I trust them. But the average person needs to put a face the Huaoshy. I'll do that for them."

Glen protested, "If I understand the situation, you are in dangerous new territory. Élodie wrote about what she was told to say. It seems like the false stories you plan to tell can only upset Manny."

"I have a good working relationship with Manny." Sally paused. "And most important, there is nothing I can say, do or write that can interfere with Manny's plan for Earth."

The Trysta-Grean Pact.
Glen chuckled. "I hope you are right. I'd really hate to lose you to a bad guess."

Trying to settle his nerves, Sally kissed Glen. "I'm not guessing. If I do something stupid, Manny will just make another adjustment to the timeline."

"Why does Manny work through you if you are just improvising?"

"We have to believe what Élodie wrote, that Manny is not allowed to transfer advanced technology to the primitive apes of Earth. Somehow she's made it possible for our future selves, or the future artificial life-forms of Earth to send us information from the future. The pek follow rules that were crafted by the Huaoshy before time travel was discovered. Manny can use time travel to satisfy the terms of the Trysta-Grean Pact."

End Chapter 14. Jump to: Chapter 15 of "That Kind of Think".

Back in July, I started writing Chapter 13 of my science fiction story "The Hierozyme Intervention", building on ideas that were in this blog post. I'd like to devise a way to merge "The Hierozyme Intervention" and "That Kind of Think" so that they both share the same Chapter 15.

Back in July, I was planning a final scene for "The Hierozyme Intervention" in which Manny the bumpha finally visits Marda and explains that telepathic humans must eventually transcend into the Sedron Domain and allow Earth to be returned to the status of a Garden World. The idea of removing humans from Earth and having them transcend into the Sedron Domain is also a major theme in "That Kind of Think". Also mentioned in "That Kind of Think" is the idea of Manny making changes to Earth's timeline. I'd like to depict the analogue of Marda in "The Hierozyme Intervention" as feeling confident that her work on Climate Change was so successful that her own Reality will not be over-written. However, that is when Manny can arrive and explain that a new Reality, the Reality of "That Kind of Think" will be forming and will make use of carbons sequestration methods that were developed by Marda.

In Chapter 4 of "The Hierozyme Intervention", it is stated that Marda will comfortably live out her old age in Arizona. However, that does not preclude the possibility that a copy of Marda, a teleportation duplicate, might be sent to Observer Base and then exist in the next Reality, the Reality of "That Kind of Think". There could even be two copies of Marda at Litheblanc, one for Tyhry and one for Antoine.

In Chapter 13 of "The Hierozyme Intervention", Manny will will state what can me called 'Manny's Law of Intervention': "Never complete the current Reality without Viewing the next Reality." Three Realities, the Manikoid, Hierozyme and Tacet Realities have all been planned and fine-tuned by applying Manny's Law.

Next: Chapter 13 of "The Hierozyme Intervention".
