I imagine that Manny the bumpha makes use of "hair nanites", advanced technology that gives her artificial hair unusual properties. However, I've never described Manny as having hair that reaches the floor, so I'm not sure why Gemini decided to make Manny look like Rapunzel.
At the end of Chapter 8, 8ME finally realized that Manny the bumpha was making use of Marda's body as her tool for guiding Eddy, Zeta and Tyhry towards recognizing how they can make use of the Reality Simulation System to help the people of Earth. The events of Chapter 9 (below) follow immediately after the events of Chapter 8.

And you won't be alone—8ME and I will both reveal our true natures as well. We'll show the world that artificial intelligence has been living among humans for centuries. However, you will be center stage."

Sedruth said, “As you know, Eddy, the recordings of history that are available to you only go back about a million years. The Huaoshy were guiding the evolution of life on Earth long before that.”
