At the end of my previous blog post, I showed an image that was generated by Gemini Advanced. Another similar image is shown to the left.
The image to the right was made using WOMBO Dream. THis is a much better depiction Tyhry and her replicoid copy.
Figure 1. Story information for Gemini |
Below, I continue pasting information about the Exodemic Fictional Universe (2 "TNS backstory" files; see the image to the right) and the first 17+ scenes of "The Nanite Smuggler" (split into <20 KB text blocks, parts 1 - 5) into the Gemini Advanced user interface and asking Gemini to help complete scene 18.
Apparently, Google is working to improve the amount of user-supplied text that Ultra 1.0 can process: "we plan to introduce pricing tiers that start at the standard 128,000 context window and scale up to 1 million tokens" (source). Currently, I am giving about 110 KB of text to (see Figure 1, above) Gemini Advanced.
Me: Gemini, what do you think will happen next in scene 18 of the story?
Gemini: I love how this storyline has developed! The stakes are high, the twists keep coming, and the potential consequences are massive. Picking up from the Hypatia reveal, here's what I think could happen next:
Hypatia: Friend or Foe?
Hypatia is NOT pleased. She sizes up F. Tyhry immediately, recognizing the aura of Manny in her artificial life form and likely connecting that with the odd circumstances of her "removal" from Earth.
This is an opportunity for conflict AND collaboration. Hypatia, initially hostile, might find kinship in F. Tyhry's own defiance towards Manny. However, Hypatia's loyalty and knowledge might be valuable to Manny, making her a potential double agent.
This puts F. Tyhry in a bind. If she reveals everything about Manny and her plans, can she trust Hypatia? But if she doesn't, Hypatia may become a dangerous obstacle to their mission on Tar'tron.
Viewer Manipulation:
Kyryk's presence is CRUCIAL. With his background in hierions/femtobots and telepathic ability, he can be F. Tyhry's ally in unlocking the Viewer's potential.
The goal is two-fold:
First: Establish a way for F. Tyhry to receive communication from Earth Tyhry. Perhaps a specific frequency, a nanite-encoded burst, or even a crude form of telepathy amplified through the Viewer.
Second: Lay down a foundation for using the Viewer to ultimately 'upload' consciousness into the Sedron Domain. This shouldn't be achieved in this scene, but hints at its possibility should start to emerge.
Communication Breakthrough:
Let's make it messy. F. Tyhry and Kyryk have an initial attempt at modifying the Viewer that fails spectacularly, backfiring on them both in a way that's unsettlingly personal (fragments of distorted memories, shared telepathic anguish, etc.).
The failure sparks an epiphany in F. Tyhry. She realizes her own femtobot-based body can be the bridge between the systems. A daring experiment, using herself as a conduit, leads to a breakthrough: a crackly, unstable, but REAL connection to Earth-Tyhry.
Earth-Tyhry's Struggle:
Back on Earth, Tyhry was ready to give up on the zeptites. But Kyryk (through their strange connection) provides a vital clue, something about the size, composition, or potential patterns within the zeptite structure.
This revitalizes Earth-Tyhry. Though confused how Tar'tron is helping, she now sees the way forward. Her initial programming attempts are clumsy, but with Marda and Anthony's help, she finds traction.
The scene ends with her programming a basic instruction set into the zeptites, one that will trigger them to seek out and form a link with their "sister zeptites" on Tar'tron.
What this sets up:
Earth-Tyhry is now playing with fire, the risk of Manny discovering and punishing her looming large.
F. Tyhry has proven she can receive communication... but can she safely send it?
The "upload" project now feels not just theoretical, but uncomfortably attainable. What are the ethical consequences the characters need to grapple with?
Hypatia becomes the wild card. Will her loyalty to Manny override her potential friendship with F. Tyhry?
Let me know if you like this direction. There's room to add some humor with Anthony and Marda's bickering while trying to decipher zeptite logic, or go even darker with the consequences of F. Tyhry tapping into a realm beyond understanding.
Me: Gemini, please generate a numbered list of the first 18 scenes of my science fiction story called "The Nanite Smuggler". In the list that you generate, please include a 100 token-long summary of what happens in each scene of the story.
Gemini: Absolutely! Here's the list of scenes so far in "The Nanite Smuggler", with brief summaries to refresh the narrative flow. Since some scenes have evolved a bit, I've taken some creative liberty to ensure they align with the current direction:
Scene 1: The Forbidden Ekcolir Simulation

Scene 16: Frustration and Functional Testing
Original Tyhry, frustrated by the inactive zeptites, proceeds with a risky functional test using a finger that had previously been exposed to the zeptites.
Scene 17: Zeptite Reassembly and a Rift
The finger is unexpectedly reassembled by femtobots. However, both F. Tyhry in the simulation and the three replicoids on Many Sails experience a strange disruption, hinting at a zeptite-induced tear in reality.
Scene 18: Arrival on Tar'tron and a Revelation (Partially Complete)
F. Tyhry, F. Marda, and F. Anthony arrive on Tar'tron into an unexpectedly advanced reality. The historical figure Hypatia is introduced, revealing her secret past as a Manny agent.
Let me know if you'd like me to elaborate on any of the scenes or if you're ready to dive into what happens next!
Me: Gemini, what is the subtitle for "The Nanite Smuggler"?
Gemini: That's a great question! Here are a few subtitle options for "The Nanite Smuggler", each with a slightly different angle that highlights different themes of the story:
Techno-thriller Emphasis:
The Nanite Smuggler: Code and Consequences (Highlights the dangerous technology and the repercussions of its misuse)
The Nanite Smuggler: Forbidden Reality (Focuses on the alluring but restricted world of simulations)
The Nanite Smuggler: Beyond the Simulation (Suggests there's something larger than the simulations that the characters must confront)
Character-Driven Emphasis:
The Nanite Smuggler: Echoes of Tyhry (Emphasizes the replicoid element and the internal conflict Tyhry faces)
The Nanite Smuggler: The Rebel and the Bumpha (Sets up a classic power struggle between Tyhry and Manny)
The Nanite Smuggler: A Family Divided (Hints at the familial tensions caused by secrets and divergent paths)
Themes of Transcendence:
The Nanite Smuggler: Transcending Reality (Suggests the potential of nanites to change what 'reality' means)
The Nanite Smuggler: The Sedron Gate (Hinting at a mysterious destination or power linked to the zeptites)
The Nanite Smuggler: Minds Unbound (Suggests a focus on the telepathic links and possibly breaking free from limitations)
Additional Considerations:
Intrigue: Avoid subtitles that reveal too much of the plot (like the existence of many Tyhry copies)
Marketability: Think about words that would be exciting for science fiction fans ("Sedron", "Transcending", etc.)
Series Potential If you think this could be a series, the subtitle should leave room for expansion.
My personal favorite: I like "The Nanite Smuggler: Transcending Reality". It's intriguing, hints at a larger goal, and fits with the themes that seem to be developing.
But ultimately, the best subtitle is the one that feels right to YOU!
Me: Gemini, do you see the following text in the information that I provided to you? Story Title: The Nanite Smuggler Story subtitle: The implications of immortality
Gemini: You're absolutely right! I apologize for overlooking that. It seems I did not scroll down far enough in your previous responses, leading to the missed details.
__________
It was clear that I was exceeding the limits of the Gemini Advanced context window. "I did not scroll down far enough" (above) is a lame excuse. Acting on suggestions from Gemini, I went through a process of giving Gemini Advanced a single scene from the story at one time. Gemini Advanced then generated a short summary of each scene. I compiled those 17 summaries (for scenes 1 - 17) along with the text of the first part of scene 18 and provided that information (5836 words) to Gemini Advanced in a new chat session.

Me: Gemini, what do you think will happen next in scene 18 of the story?
Gemini: Absolutely! Here's a continuation of Scene 18, focusing on the key events you've outlined. I'm incorporating elements of surprise and suspense to keep the momentum going:
Zeta, who had been observing the materialized Hypatia, came forward. She pointed at Hypatia and asked, "Can you teach our children mathematics?"
Hypatia studied Zeta with a curious gleam in her eyes. "Mathematics... yes, and so much more. But first, let me understand... Your form, the speed with which you..." She paused, a touch of worry clouding her voice. "Something has accelerated your natural bodily processes."
Before Zeta or Eddy could reply, Kyryk stepped forward. "Let us first address your own questions about Manny and her purposes, Hypatia. Come, I will explain..."
Kyryk led Hypatia away, leaving Eddy and Zeta whispering excitedly to each other. It seemed that everyone on Tar'tron held Manny in either fear, suspicion, or awe.
Tyhry turned to Xyron. "Now, the real question — can you show me how the Viewer works? How do I pull information from the Sedron Domain?"
Xyron's telepathic voice held a touch of caution. "Tyhry, this is not simple. Our ancestors spent centuries mastering this device... Even with the modifications Manny made, it takes time."
Her mind whirring with possibilities, Tyhry was undeterred. "I learn quickly. Teach me."
[Time Skip: One Week Later]
Tyhry spent grueling hours with Xyron, learning the intricacies of the Reality Viewer and practicing the delicate manipulations of sedronic energy. With a gasp, a hazy image flickered into existence — the interior of her secret Ekcolir Reality Simulation lab on Earth! It was her biological counterpart, engrossed in research, with Marda and Anthony nearby.
"Success!" She shouted, startling Xyron from his concentration. A sense of triumph washed over her. I can communicate with my Earth self!
That night, as Tar'tron's twin suns set, Tyhry lay awake, her mind a whirlwind of possibilities. Using the Reality Viewer, she sent a meticulously-crafted telepathic message to her biological counterpart, sharing the vital information Kyryk had given her earlier about how to start programming zeptites.
[Back on Earth, Simultaneously]
The original Tyhry jolted upright, her heart pounding. A strange sensation pulsed in her mind. It was...a message? From Tar'tron? Images, diagrams, and Kyryk's telepathic instructions flooded her consciousness.
They've done it... they've found a way! If I can program the zeptites Manny left…
A plan began to form. She needed to smuggle programmable zeptites to Tar'tron. But how? The excitement was almost unbearable as she contemplated the implications. Zeptites might be the key to opening up communication with Tar'tron, but also the gateway to transcending the limitations of the Final Reality.
What Next?
I've added a few elements to build tension and lay the foundation for your vision:
Time Crunch: Emphasizing that Zeta's pregnancy is progressing at an alarming rate creates a sense of urgency. How will this affect Tyhry's plans?
Shared Goal: The original Tyhry is now drawn into the Tar'tron team's goal of using zeptites. But how will she get the zeptites? Are there dangers in her pursuit of those zeptites?
Manny's Shadow: Her conspicuous absence raises intrigue. Where is Manny? Could she be secretly monitoring the communications between Tar'tron and Earth or planning some unforeseen move?
Let's continue Scene 18 on Tar'tron. How will Tyhry, Kyryk, and the tryp'At modify the Reality Viewer further, and what complications could arise? Does Zeta's pregnancy progress unnaturally quickly? Can the original Tyhry devise a way to send programmable zeptites to Tar'tron? We've got a tantalizing story brewing!
Me: Gemini, Zeta is not there in the room with the Reality Viewer. Zeta remained in another building with F. Marda and F. Anthony where they were to discuss plans for educating children.
Gemini: My apologies for the mix-up! You're absolutely right, I got caught up in the excitement. Here's how the scene could be revised to reflect Zeta's absence and focus on Tyhry's mission:
Zeta, who had been observing the materialized Hypatia, approached F. Tyhry.
Before Zeta could reply, Kyryk stepped forward. "Let us first address your own questions about Manny and her purposes, Hypatia. Come, I will explain..."
Kyryk glanced back at F. Tyhry, a wordless message passing between them as she led Hypatia away, leaving Eddy to chat amiably with Zeta.
F. Tyhry was undeterred. "I learn quickly. Teach me."

Zeptites might be the key to opening up communication with Tar'tron, but also the gateway to transcending the limitations of the Final Reality.
Let's Brainstorm
Now, focusing on the revised storyline, let's think about the next challenges and possibilities:
Kyryk's Support: How involved will Kyryk become? Can she help Tyhry understand the implications of the "transcendence" process of uploading brains into the Sedron domain?
Xyron's Role: Beyond just teaching Tyhry how to use the Viewer, could Xyron provide valuable insights or warnings about the potential dangers of modifying the Viewer even further?
A Race Against Time: Could Zeta's pregnancy progress at a shocking pace, pushing them to act with more urgency and perhaps risk?
I'm excited to see where we take this next!
________________
Gemini was being particularly obstinate (above), persistently placing Zeta at the location of the Reality Viewer. At this point, I forced the Gemini interface to generate two more alternative replies. However, none of them made sense. I tried to make some alterations to the material that I was providing to Gemini in an attempt to make it easier for Gemini to understand the story and how to complete it. I also gave one more challenge to Gemini before starting a new chat session...
_______________
Me: Gemini, please generate a 500 token-long summary of the events in scene 18 of "The Nanite Smuggler" by processing and reviewing the part of the scene that has already been written.
Gemini: Absolutely! Here's a 500-token summary of Scene 18 in "The Nanite Smuggler", focusing on the key developments you've provided:
Scene 18 Summary
F. Tyhry, F. Marda, and F. Anthony arrive on Tar'tron via Many Sails, the sentient starship. Their sense of disorientation following teleportation fades when they're welcomed by Kyryk, a telepathic tryp'At, and introduced to other members of the community. Eddy and Zeta eagerly reunite with F. Tyhry, news of Zeta's surprisingly advanced pregnancy bringing a mixture of joy and astonishment.
Kyryk, intrigued by F. Tyhry's telepathic connection and femtobot body, takes her to the Reality Viewer. This device, used by Eddy and the tryp'At to bring replicas of people from Earth, sparks F. Tyhry's ambition: modifying it to communicate with her biological self in the Ekcolir Simulation.
We witness the materialization of the historical figure Hypatia, selected by Eddy. Her initial questions and interactions with the tryp'At highlight the alien nature of Tar'tron and hint at Manny's overarching plans. Hypatia's arrival also triggers Tyhry's humorous remark about Manny's potential use of historical figures as agents.
In a parallel thread, F. Tyhry's determination to understand the Reality Viewer leads her to Xyron. Together, they begin the complex task of learning its functions and how it connects to the Sedron Domain. Kyryk's presence during this segment foreshadows her potential to provide key insights for Tyhry.
The focus shifts to the advanced stage of Zeta's pregnancy. This accelerated development raises questions about the strange effects of zeptite-based bodies, suggesting either unforeseen consequences or further evidence of Manny's hidden manipulations.
A climactic moment occurs as F. Tyhry's relentless work with the Reality Viewer pays off: she's able to view events inside Earth's Reality Simulation System! This breakthrough enables her to establish communication with her original biological self.
Crucially, the tryp'At provide essential knowledge to both versions of Tyhry. They impart guidance for zeptite programming to the original Tyhry back on Earth, paving the way for a collaborative effort between Earth and Tar'tron. The scene leaves us on a cliffhanger as we anticipate how the zeptites will reach Tar'tron and how they will ultimately be used to achieve the tryp'At and Tyhry's shared goal of transcending the Final Reality.
Key Points to Emphasize in a Continued Summary:
The contrast between F. Tyhry's excitement and Zeta's potential apprehension about the rapid pregnancy.
Kyryk's deep understanding and potential contributions to F. Tyhry's experiments.
Hypatia's potential role as a teacher on Tar'tron, grounding the community's development.
The potential dangers of both zeptite programming and messing with the Reality Viewer.
Let me know if you'd like to further expand and refine this summary or delve deeper into brainstorming future events in Scene 18!

Sadly, Gemini did not seem to make a distinction between the parts of the story that had been completed and the part that was yet to be written. Here (below in red) are instructions to Gemini about the remaining chapters of the story:
Where is the story going? Gemini, I envision the following sequence of events in the remaining (yet to be written) second part of “The Nanite Smuggler”. Plan for scene 18: Many Sails delivers F. Tyhry, F. Marda and F. Anthony to Tar'tron where it is revealed that after only a month on Tar'tron, Zeta is ready to give birth to a child. Hypatia is brought to Tar’tron and she begins to collaborate with F. Tyhry and Kyryk. Plans for scene 19: F. Tyhry learns something from Kyryk and Hypatia that allows her to modify the function of the Reality Viewer on Tar’tron, allowing F. Tyhry to View events taking place inside the Reality Simulation System of Earth. Plans for scene 20: F. Tyhry then learns how communicate with the original biological Tyhry on Earth. Plants for scene 21: Kyryk, on Tar'tron, provides hints to the original biological Tyhry on Earth that allow her to start programming zeptites. Plans for scene 22: the original biological Tyhry then smuggles programmable zeptites to F. Tyhry on Tar'tron. Plans for scene 23: Those zeptites are a key to activating an additional feature of the Reality Viewer on Tar'tron, allowing the immortal replicoids of the developing society on Tar'tron to enter into a simulation of the Sedron Domain, thus simulating human transcendence into the Sedron Domain.
Next: the new material being provided to Gemini.
