Time travel and Telepathy.

Below on this page is Part 10 of the science fiction story "Telepaths of Site Q". Part 10 is not the end of the story, but Yenti completes her mission at Observer Base and returns to siteq, as planned. In Part 11, Irhit's parents finally walk on stage while they are busily scheming how to infiltrate Observer Base. 

Previously, in Part 9, Dani the robot has just been teleported into Observer Base. When "he" arrives, Dani is working as an agent of the tryp'At Council. However, Manny the bumpha has long been preparing for Dani's arrival and intends to entice Dani into changing his loyalties... eventually. There are multiple levels to Dani's mind. At the root level are the remnants of his original programming as a positronic robot and 20,000 years of memories from the Foundation Reality when he almost successfully guided Humanity to the creation of Galaxia. Back then, Dani was known as Daneel. 

Dani and Doy

Layered on top of that ancient positronic foundation of Daneel's mind are all of Dani's newer memories since the time when he was converted into a zeptite replicoid, an advanced artificial lifeform composed of sedronic matter. Upon arriving inside Observer Base, Dani is quickly sent off to Yaddo for some telepathic reprogramming. A special group mind has been assembled by Manny, a powerful telepathic mind that should be able to penetrate Dani's telepathic defenses and begin weaken his loyalties to the tryp'At Council. However, before completely severing Dani's links to the tryp'At Council, Manny wants to make use of Dani as part of a trap that will allow Manny to capture the parents of Irhit and put them to work in siteq.

Lany was half asleep and reflecting on the events of her fifth night inside the big luxurious mansion where Henry and Richard lived in the Yaddo artist's colony along with a half dozen cats. Everything had gone pretty much as Betty had planned when she dragged Lany off to Yaddo. Lany was grateful for the great good luck of Liza appearing on the scene and between the two of them, they'd had five fun days and nights with Richard. The days were filled with visits to various art galleries and the homes of artists while the nights featured much frolicking sex play... mostly between Richard and Liza with Lany watching their rambunctious sexual athletics. 

Lany was gradually recovering from the surprise of learning that Richard had both a penis and a vagina. Lany occasionally met with her sister and knew that Betty seemed very satisfied with the sexplay she was enjoying with Henry. After their first night in Yaddo, Betty had reported to Lany that Henry had both ovaries and testes and was a true hermaphrodite. 

Now, Lany gazed at Richard's relaxed and sleeping body and wondered how much longer Betty's investigation of Henry would go on. Lany was getting a bit bored as a spectator of the seemingly super-human sexplay of Liza and Richard.

Responding to a soft sound, Lany turned her head and saw Liza who was up and out of bed and gazing out one of the big windows along the wall of Richard's bedroom while holding one of the cats in her arms. During their three-way sexplay with Richard, Lany had been impressed by Liza's great energy and stamina and at that moment Lany could see no fault in Liza's sleek and sexy body. Drifting through Lany's mind was the idea that Liza must have been designed as the ultimate sex machine. Lany could not stop wondering about Liza's true identity and how she had magically appeared exactly when Lany had needed some sort of help in keeping Richard entertained. For many long years, Lany had avoided starting a sexual relationship that could be documented and that would satisfy the one remaining educational goal that was a requirement for everyone who grew up at Observer Base but which Lany had so far failed to complete. 

Lany had long maintained a weird sexual relationship with Albert the synpaz, but the only way she could get out of remedial sex education was by having documented sex with a human. Lany doubted that her recent sexcapades with Richard and Liza would count towards that requirement. Richard appeared to be an hermaphrodite like Henry, although Lany had never questioned Richard about his biological nature. Although he appeared to be human, as long as you ignored his vagina, Lany suspected that he was some alien human variant, something like the Kac'hin, who were widely rumored to be hermaphroditic human variants crafted by the bumpha. And Liza's amazing performances in bed reminded Lany of the rumored prowess of sexbots. Was Liza a robot? 

The Reality Chain that led to the universe as we know it.

Lany could not help wondering what was going on back at home and which of her family members might have already begun having sex with the sexbot that had been assigned to Lany in an attempt to end her presumed virginity.

While Lany struggled with her own personal issues, Wendy (working under the assumed name of "Liza") had other matters on her mind. She was reflecting on a set of unusual orders that she had just received from Grean by way of infites. Wendy had known Grean for many years across the span of multiple Realities, going all the way back to the Foundation Reality. 

No matter how strange and surprising the shared adventures of Wendy and Grean seemed, somehow the Kac'hin always had some new trick up her sleeve. Wendy knew that Grean had been investigating Betty's background and telepathic abilities and Wendy thought that was why she had been sent to Yaddo. So now it was puzzling to suddenly be told to abandon Betty there in Yaddo and be prepared for imminent teleportation back to the core district.

As Wendy's positronic pathways re-organized under the influence of a set of new infites, she thought about Betty and Henry. Knowing that they were only a short distance down the hallway, Wendy could not resist trying one last time to reach out and telepathically contact either Henry's mind or Betty's, but those two were able to block her telepathic probing. There was something alien and inhuman about the minds of both Betty and Henry. Suddenly, Wendy felt the familiar touch of Grean's mind: You have done well assisting Lany, but now there is an emergency back in the Core.

Wendy looked around, wondering if Grean might have teleported into the big house where Richard and Henry had lived together for 15 years. The cat she had been holding suddenly let out a loud yowl and jumped out of Wendy's arms. The cat's noise woke up Richard. The cat fell to the floor, landed gracefully and then it wandered away. 

Now, Wendy felt Grean's infites activate some old, concealed memories. In her mind, Wendy saw visions of the past, back when she had assisted Oliveene... back during the time when the Morkeghsen house was being constructed in Yaddo. A robot named Dors had done the actual building with Oliveene supervising and acquiring the building materials. Wendy had scrounged for several unusual building materials for that construction project, some of which had never previously been used at Observer Base and had to be teleported up from Earth. Then somehow those memories had been hidden from Wendy's conscious mind for the past 15 years. After a brief lecherous glance at Wendy, Richard had put an arm around Lany and began kissing the girl.

Only now was it revealed to Wendy that during the years while Dors had been building the mansion, she had also been in constant telepathic contact with Earth. Somehow, in a way that Wendy did not understand, a copy of Dors had actually also been living on Earth and raising two children, Hedy and Susan Wolcat. Wendy laughed when she realized that 'Dors' was the same robot now living at Observer Base and using the name Catski. 

Hearing Wendy's laugh, Lany glanced up, but she had just taken Richard's penis in her mouth and soon she and Richard forgot all about Wendy.

Wendy was somewhat reluctant to leave Lany alone with Richard, but surely during the past few days she must have learned how to keep him entertained. Wendy dressed herself using her clothing nanites and slipped quietly out of Richard's bedroom. Suddenly, Wendy was teleported to the core downtown area of Observer Base. New infite-generated memories in Wendy's mind made her aware of the fact that Susan had managed to infiltrate the small tryp'At colony living in Mars, Iowa. Wendy's mind reverberated with Grean's new orders: Bring Dani to Yaddo.

Wendy could telepathically sense Dani's robotic mind. He was behind some sort of shield, but now Wendy was close enough to feel the pattern of his thoughts which conformed to the basic pattern of all positronic robots. And there was another powerful telepath here, too, with a mind that reminded Wendy of Grean's partner in Reality design, Trysta the Asterothrope. Then very suddenly, the door to Yenti's apartment opened and there was Irhit and then just as quickly Dani rushed through the doorway and was holding onto Wendy's arms. Under the influence of the infites in her brain, and without thinking, Wendy said, "Come with me. Susan is at Yaddo."

Through their shared telepathic linkage, Dani could see in Wendy's mind that she had a short time previously been making love to a man named Richard Morkeghsen. The idea was there in Wendy's mind that Richard was an hermaphrodite and a mind clone of Susan. No, had been a mind clone of Susan. Dani chuckled and said, "Oh well, I suppose it does not matter." In any case, Dani realized that the mind of Susan had recently been swapped into Richard's body. And, worse, it was clear to Dani that Irhit's cover had been blown. Looking telepathically into Wendy's mind, Dani could see it all: Wendy strongly suspected that Irhit was tryp'At. And worse, Susan knew that Irhit was tryp'At. Susan was now positioned to tell everyone at Observer Base not only that Irhit was a tryp'At spy, but she also knew all about how he had grown up within the secret tryp'At colony on Earth, in Mars, Iowa. 

Telepathically, Dani asked Wendy: How do we get to Yaddo?

Right then, they were both teleported to Yaddo and were back in the house that Dors built. Now holding Dani's hand, Wendy's telepathic ability was amplified and she could sense Betty's mind, penetrating the telepathy-blocking haze that had for days shrouded Henry's and Betty's thoughts. 

At that moment, Betty was happily making love to Henry in his bedroom and Lany was with Richard and for the first time enjoying his undivided attention. Now Wendy could telepathically sense that Susan Wolcat's mind occupied Richard's body. Further, Wendy could sense that Susan's mind was full of plans for sharing her knowledge of the tryp'At with Grean and others there at Observer Base. Looking up the stairway, Dani said, "Susan is upstairs." 

Now with a strong link to her mind, Dani asked Wendy telepathically: Was it Grean who just teleported us?

Wendy nodded, but her mind was filled with confusion and doubts... something quite strange was going on. Dani asked: Can you get Richard/Susan to go with us back to Yenti's apartment? There is something very strange going on... Susan should not be here... she should be on Earth! 

Wendy sensed it quite clearly in Dani's mind; he could not understand how Susan had shifted from Earth to Observer Base nor could he fathom how Susan had learned so much about the tryp'At agents on Earth. Now, to prevent Susan from disrupting the plans of the tryp'At Council, Dani wanted to quickly teleport RichardSusan away from Observer Base and off to the hidden location of the tryp'At Council. Wendy asked Dani, "Why should I help you?"

Dani replied, "We are both positronic robots... we have the same goal... making a good future for humans. Someone sent Hedy and Susan to Earth, two hermaphrodites... a clear violation of the Trysta-Grean Pact! Now, be quick! I need your help..."

Wendy suggested, "Let's just give Grean the teleportation coordinates... she'll take care of everything."

Dani laughed. "Never. The tryp'At council does not want to reveal itself to Grean. I would not be surprised if it was Grean herself who sent Hedy and Susan to Earth. No, I'll use the hidden Asterothrope teleporter in Yenti's apartment to get rid of Susan."

Wendy said, "You wait here. I'll go upstairs and get Richard. Susan..." Wendy was puzzled by her own behavior and quite uncertain if she should be cooperating with Dani. How the devil did Susan's mind get inside Richard's body?

Wendy rushed up the stairway and into Richard's bedroom. Richard was enthusiastically making love to Lany. Wendy felt a heated rush of jealousy and lust wash through her mind like a boiling tsunami. Without a thought for Dani, Grean, or anyone except herself, Wendy quickly dissolved her clothing nanites. As she rushed towards the bed where Richard was busily thrusting his penis in and out through the tight muscular ring of Lany's anus, Wendy could feel her vaginal secretions gushing and trickling down her legs... then a hand took hold of Wendy's arm, stopping her from jumping on the bed.

Wendy experienced a brief period of wonderment at how closely Manny's mind pattern seemed to that of Grean, then she finally realized that it had been Manny pretending to be Grean that had sent her rushing off to the core to get Dani and bring him to Yaddo.

Wendy looked around the bedroom, but Manny was gone. Lany was still there, straddled on Richard, but she seemed to be dozing off and slipping back into sleep. Treba gracefully flew up and off of Dani's erection and asked, "What took you so long, Wendy?" Dani remained on the floor, stiff and unmoving. Clothing nanites quickly covered Treba's body with a sleek flying suit.

Wendy asked, "What are you doing here, Treba?"

No longer held in place by Treba, Dani now seemed to awaken. He stood up and both he and Wendy reassembled their clothing and softened their erectile tissue. "Wow." Dani waved a hand at Treba and quietly said, "Wendy, have you ever had sex with a synpaz?"

Wendy replied, "Yes, I have, it is an interesting experience. They were crafted so as to be able to give a human an orgasm, without even needing physical contact."

Treba was impatiently waiting at the front door. "Let's go!"

Moments later, Dani, Wendy and Treba were out the front door and going down the walkway. Up ahead, Wendy saw that waiting there at the edge of the street was Grean the Kac'hin. Wendy ran ahead and said, "I'm sorry, Grean, Manny tricked me."

Grean hugged Betty then said, "That's alright. I just spoke to Manny. I agreed to allow you to go visit siteq, so be off with you." She rather flippantly waved a hand at Wendy, Dani and Treba.

Wendy could see in Grean's mind that the Kac'hin was expecting Wendy to travel with Dani and Treba to siteq and then return with a report about the human telepath breeding project that was going on there. Before Wendy could say anything, Grean teleported them back to the Core.

Dani, Wendy and Treba found themselves back at the entrance to Yenti's apartment. Treba flew right inside, but Betty hesitated, a bit jealous of the synpaz ability to levitate themselves by anti-gravity and fly through the air. Wendy told Dani, "I can't go through the doorway... there is a force shield..." She put out her hand, but now she felt no resistance to her movements. "Now the shield is down!" Wendy entered the apartment and she could sense telepathically that Irhit was in the bedroom making love to Riea. Dani, Wendy and Treba went to the shrine room and were teleported away to siteq.

Yenti the Asterothrope

The next day, Irhit awoke and began making plans to go off to his shift in the fishbowl, but then Yenti rushed into the bedroom and jumped on the bed. She told Irhit, "I want you inside my nhezaurish, lover! Now!" She was holding his penis and under the influence of pheromones, Irhit's penis quickly inflated and became engorged with blood. Now he could see that after having been shrunken down for a few days, his penis had begun growing again over night, but it was still smaller than usual. 

Upon Yenti's arrival, Riea had woken up. She was watching Yenti eagerly play with Irhit's penis. Telepathically sensing the emotional fire inside Yenti, the hermaphrodite's penis began to swell and now she said, "Welcome back, Yenti."

Yenti briefly glanced away from Irhit' pretty genitals and told Riea, "I hope you have been keeping Irhit happy." Yenti called to Wysy, "Get moving, Wysy!"

As always, Yenti was right. Body sculpting medical nanites were still at work inside Irhit's body. A week later, Irhit had grown to be taller than Yenti and his enlarged penis was a perfect match to Yenti's big Asterothrope nhezaurish. At that time, they were deep into daily explorations of the best way of accomplishing what Yenti described as the most popular form of love making among the Asterothropes. Irhit was expected to play in Yenti's nhezaurish while Riea was simultaneously giving her full attention to Yenti's allzaurish. Then the day soon came when Irhit arrived from work and Yenti announced that she was pregnant. 

During the next year, Irhit and Yanni were busy learning how to telepathically guide the development of their children's telepathic brains. Riea was a big help in assisting Yenti and Irhit develop their shared telepathic connection so that they could efficiently help shape the growing neural networks in the brains of the two fetuses that were growing inside Yenti.

When Yenti was close to giving birth, Wendy returned from her mission at siteq. Wendy had learned all about how to assist an Asterothrope who was in her first pregnancy, and with her help, Yenti efficiently gave birth to the children. Then, three month's later Yenti teleported back to siteq.

Suddenly, the shrine room was quiet and Irhit could no longer feel the telepathic touch of Yenti, Riea or Wysy. He asked himself for the hundredth time how he expected to live without Yenti. Just then, Dani and Treba appeared on the teleportation platform. Dani said, "Oh, hello Irhit."

Dani and Irhit followed the flying Treba as the synpaz flew towards the front doorway. Dani could telepathically sense that Irhit was sad due to Yenti's departure. He told Irhit, "We have to report to Grean on what we learned at siteq, but then we are going off to High Seelie. We are going to investigate the telepathy experiments being conducted there. It is an important part of Asterothrope history that the folks at siteq asked us to investigate and then provide them with details about that missing part of their historical origins."

"Seelie..." Irhit asked, "How will you fit? Isn't High Seelie designed just for the small-bodied Paz?"

Dani explained, "I'm composed of zeptite components. I can change my body size as needed. You should go with us... keep yourself busy..."

Irhit was thinking about how Yenti had used body-sculpting medical nanites to alter his body, but now he laughed and told Dani, "Sorry to say, I'm not quite as flexible as you are, but thanks for the offer." Irhit wondered how it had been possible to arrange for Dani to return from siteq just minutes after Yenti had returned to siteq. 

Dani put a hand on Irhit's shoulder and said, "Boy, talk about flexibility... I still can't get used to this fancy bumpha teleportation technology. Treba and I just arrived from across vast interstellar distances and also from more than a thousand years in the future!"

Irhit asked, "Where exactly is siteq?"

Dani shrugged and replied, "Apparently that is a big secret, but I can tell you this. It is in some other galaxy. Don't ask me which because there are no astronomers among the Asterothropes."

Irhit had long puzzled over the way he had been able to set the teleporter coordinates correctly so as to successfully bring Dani into Observer Base. Irhit changed the subject to another mystery and told Dani, "I still don't understand why you came here to Observer Base and then immediately went off to visit siteq."

Dani could telepathically sense that Irhit was still trying to play the role of a tryp'At agent. Dani said, "You should relax, Irhit. Enjoy yourself." Dani thought about how Manny had reached into his brain and reprogrammed him, dissolving his loyalties to R. Gohrlay and the tryp'At. "You'll recall that it was not really "immediately". When I visited Yaddo, I quickly realized that it made sense to grab the available opportunity to visit siteq. Frankly, I'm surprised you did not go with Yenti when she returned to her home in siteq."

Irhit shook his head, "No, I could not leave Observer Base... I still have things to accomplish here."

Irhit called to Treba who was far ahead down the street, "Wait for me!" After a brief nod to Irhit, Dani took off running in pursuit of Treba.

Watching Dani and Treba as they went off to report to Grean, Irhit re-assessed his own plans. Irhit had been on his way to tunnel-ball practice, but now he decided that Dani was right. For a year he had neglected his old friends and had given almost no thought to Betty. On a whim, he went to Betty's house. Again, Kate the robot opened the door. Irhit said, "Hello, Kate. Is Sara available?"

Again, as had happened a year previously, Hana came to door. She told Irhit, "My parents are out, but come in."

Irhit stepped inside. Kate closed the front door and quietly went off into the house. A voice called from upstairs, "I'm almost ready to go."

Hana told Irhit, "We're going dancing at the Serothic."

Irhit asked, "Judy?"

"No... haven't you heard? Judy and I broke up about six months ago." Hana pointed upwards and added, "This is Susan, Betty's friend from Yaddo." Hana poured out two goblets of wine and handed one to Irhit. "Hey, how are things working out with that girl you met at the Serothic... what was her name, Yamy? Yumy?"

Susan came down the stairway and Hana said, "Susan, this is Betty's old friend, Irhit." 

"Oh, how... interesting." Susan briefly took hold of Irhit's hand. "Irhit, you probably don't remember... it was so long ago, but I knew your parents and babysat you... hmm, it must have been almost twenty years ago."

Irhit had no conscious memory of Susan from that long past time, but he remembered having used the equipment in the fishbowl to investigate Susan's activities on Earth. Irhit shook his head and tried to remember why he had dropped that investigation. Of course, for the past year he had been very busy with Yenti and their two children. Now gazing at Susan he was surprised that she seemed so young. Susan told Irhit telepathically: Yes, I'm old, but I'm now in a replicoid body... but be discrete... no need to tell my secrets... Hana thinks I'm a hot young girl!

Lany stepped into the room and asked, "Was there someone at the do-" She saw Irhit.

Hana and Susan handed Irhit off to Lany and they were soon stepping out the front door. Hana reminded Lany, "We're off to the dance!"

As the door closed, silence descended on Lany and Irhit. Lany was wiping paint off of a brush. She told Irhit, "Hana has fallen head-over-heels for Susan. Luckily the lusty feelings seem to be mutual. I assume you dropped by to see Sara."

"Yes, that's why I'm here. Do you know when she'll be back?"

Henry

"Late... my parents went to a party at the Toodday's house. Those are usually wild parties. If they get lucky, they should not be back until tomorrow sometime."

Irhit asked, "Is Betty still in Yaddo?"

"Yes, she's decided to live there with Henry."

"Didn't you go to Yaddo for a while?"

"Yes, and I'm glad I did. I was there for almost a week during which I learned some new... painting methods... and I'm quite pleased with how my art has developed since then. Would you like to see some of my recent stuff?"

"Sure."

Lany took Irhit into her studio. Kate was there, shaping a new Glyton block into the rough form of the human figure that Lany had requested. For a moment Irhit watched Kate work and he wondered why that new sculpture seemed to be on its way towards having more than two arms. Dozens of brightly painted sculptures stood along the walls of the studio. Lany showed Irhit the half-painted statue that she as working on. Irhit said, "Wait, didn't I... this is Susan?"

Lany laughed. "Almost. This was 'Susan' when I knew her as 'Richard'. She's made herself over to have completely female form... now. Susan is some kind of replicoid and can morph her body. She's now trying very hard to please Hana."

Irhit said, "Don't tell me that Henry is also..."

"No, Henry is biological. Way back when Grean brought Hedy to Observer Base, she made a replicoid copy of her that became Richard. Hedy retained his biological body and became Henry."

"But... I thought Hedy was an hermaphrodite."

"Yes, and it all worked out in the end. I'm surprised you never realized it, but Betty was also born with a penis." Irhit thought back to the one time when he had gotten his penis inside Betty and how it had seemed that something was blocking her vagina. After discovering the large glans of her clitoris he had gotten distracted. Lany told Kate, "Come show Irhit what I'm talking about."

Kate said, "I'm not going to show Irhit my penis."

Lany pulled down Kate's skirt and then vigorously rubbed the robot's crotch. "Come on, Kate, Irhit won't believe me unless..." She moved her hand and pointed, "Have you ever seen a clitoris this big?"

Irhit replied, "Well, I was surprised when I saw Betty's glans..."

"Betty spent her whole last year in school telling me that she was only letting you play with her breasts." Lany pushed a finger into Kate's vagina then took hold of the robot's glans and pulled. Out popped a penis, emerging from its hiding place in an anatomical pocket inside Kate's body. Lany giggled and said, "Judging by the size of her penis, Kate's been playing with Hana and Susan." Lany playfully slapped the robot's bottom.

Kate pulled up her skirt and told Irhit, "Lany has an obsessive craving for huge penises, but as a sexbot, I feel it is my duty to keep everyone in the household satisfied."

Lany was back at the statue of Richard and she started obsessively re-painting his penis, trying to get the color exactly right. "True... I carved this statue so as to have an unrealistically huge penis, but that is what is known as artistic license." Lany said wistfully, "This is Richard as I wished he had been..." She glanced at Irhit and asked, "What's your opinion, Irhit?"

Irhit moved close to Lany and noticed that she was breathing rather rapidly and her cheeks seemed flushed. He took a good look at the big penis she had sculpted and was so carefully painting. Irhit was feeling a strange sensation in his mind that reminded him of the way Riea could telepathically touch his mind. He placed a hand along side his ear and asked Lany, "You're a telepath?"

Lany giggled, "Not a very good one I'm afraid, but when I was a young girl I did get some telepathy training from a synpaz."

"Really? You lived in Seelie?" Irhit started thinking about Dani and his plan to investigate the genetics experiments that were apparently taking place in High Seelie. He rubbed his head: I wonder what Dani will learn about hermaphrodites...

Lany asked, "Who's Dani?"

Irhit asked, "Did you just read my mind?"

Lany looked up from her painting, "You said something about Dani."

"No I didn't. I never said his name."

Lany set down her brush. "Well then, I guess I did read your mind." She took hold of Irhit's hand and they both felt a strong telepathic connection. Five minutes later they were in Lany's bed where they had quickly discovered that Irhit's Asterothrope sized genitals were just exactly what Lany had long been dreaming of. From that day on, Lany never troubled to wonder why her old fantasies so closely matched the reality of Irhit's body and, of course, Manny never bothered to explain that odd "coincidence" to her.
