This blog page (below) has Part 12 of my Decade in Review (DiR, see Part 1). The blog posts in this series have titles that contain unusual characters. This blog post is called "Kŷrt, Alẙs and Jẏm of Alo𝓎sⓨus" because in 2022 I started a science fiction story called The Cythyrya Investigation which has Kyrt, Alys and Jym as characters who live on the planet Aloysyus. I imagined The Cythyrya Investigation to be part of The Nyrtia Cycle.

Science Fiction Story Illustration. In this Decade in Review (DiR) I am exploring AI-generated images as alternative illustrations for my old science fiction stories. I'm using software such as WhiskWOMBO Dream, and Leonardo to generate updated story illustrations. An example of an AI-generated image is shown to the right, for which Mr. Wombo (my 'pet' name for WOMBO Dream) generated an image depicting Alys of Aloysyus, which is the title of the blog post where I placed the first chapter of The Cythyrya Investigation.

Extant cover. Trapping Treesong.
The Cythyrya Investigation should be viewed as fan fiction because Alys was inspired by Jack Vance's character Alice Wroke.  I had long wondered about the fate of Alys and Kyrt (Kirth) after the end of Vance's novel The Book of Dreams.

At the end of Edison's Endosymbiont Experiments, Rylla had experienced the adventure of exploring past Realities by means of the Reality Simulation System that was accessible to her grandfather, Eddy. Twenty years later (note that 'Tihri' is now called 'Tyhry'), while exploring the Asimov Reality Simulation and visiting the planet Aloysius (Aloysyus), Rylla met Alys and discovered that Alys greatly resembled Rey. Rylla had met Rey the femtobot replicoid during her first use of the Simulator and visiting Earth in the Ekcolir Reality. Eventually, Rylla and Eddy would come to realize that both Nyrtia and Manny often used their special Interventionist agents in multiple Realities of Earth's Reality Chain.

When Rylla meets Alys inside the Asimov Reality Simulation, the telepathic abilities of Alys quickly become apparent (she is an advanced femtobot that was planted into human society and then passed through human developmental stages, maturing into the young woman who helped Kyrt subdue Treesong). Alys readily admits to Rylla that she was assigned by Nyrtia with the task of helping Kyrt Gersen prevent Treesong from becoming Emperor of the many planets that had been settled by humans. Alys is able to confirm that upon Treesong's death, several artificial life forms exited from his body. One ended up in Kyrt and one went first into Alys and then into her son.

Knowing that Rey had been taken out of the Ekcolir Reality Simulation system and brought into the Final Reality, Rylla now hopes that it might be possible to find programmable nanites inside the Simulation System that can be used to re-activate the teleportation system at Observer Base.

In Part 2 of The Cythyrya Investigation, the events describes take place 20 years before Rylla's visit to Aloysyus that was described in Part 1. One of Manny the bumpha's agents on Earth, a woman using the name Jutta Holgenner, arrives at the home of Eddy and Zeta, having followed online clues from Eddy's blog. Having completed her mission on Earth (which involved time spent with Eddy's copy known as "John Smith"), Jutta is irresistibly attracted to the the Reality Simulation equipment that can be accessed through Eddy's personal computer.

Jutta is a clone of Jyryl Tynzy. She and Rylla use the Simulation System to visit the planet Sogdian in the year 3923 of the Asimov Reality, at the time when Viole Falushe was experimenting with clones and clytykynyn polypeptides for a bizarre form of mind control. Working with Falushe was a man named Retz (an agent for Zodyac) who had some advanced training in nanotechnology.

the Ivory infites
At the start of Part 3 of The Cythyrya Investigation, the fate of Jutta is revealed: she was able to rescue her clone sisters from Sogdian. Retz had isolated some nanites from the dead body of Jheral Tinzy and was trying to use them to give Viole Falushe the ability to exercise telepathic control over the clones of Jheral.

Studying the Future. Eventually, I would depict Tyhry (the grownup Tihri) as having an innate ability to regularly make use of information obtained from the Sedron Time Stream. In 2022, I imagined that Ivory Fersoni and her sisters also had access to the Sedron Time Stream. Because of infites that Ivory had passed on to Eddy, he could sometimes access information from the future that Ivory had previously obtained from the Sedron Time Stream. The events in Part 3 of The Cythyrya Investigation center on Eddy's attempt to compose a coherent account of events from the far future of the Final Reality, at a time when telepathic humans are beginning to form a stable society.

Myller's Planet.
G-syms for G-world. In that future society, some planets of the galaxy resist using robots for labor and some people (such as Fraunz Wylsyn) are reluctant to use technology-assisted telepathy. Fraunz is a golfer who arrives on G-world, the planet where all of the galaxy's golf champions assemble and compete. Fraunz is a strong telepathic transmitter, but he has no ability to tune his telepathic mind to that of another person. That could be changed if Fraunz used a G-sym implant, but he is not interested in doing so.

At the end of Part 3 of The Cythyrya Investigation, Fraunz meets his future wife, Tya. Tya will give birth Rytya, a woman who is able to send information from the future back to Eddy via the Sedron Time Stream.

One of the goals of the Decade in Review is identifying old stories that I never completed. I did begin writing Part  4 of The Cythyrya Investigation, which shifted back to Rylla and her efforts to re-activate the teleportation system at Observer Base. Here in 2025, I finally caught up to that goal as described in my story "D*". I need to find a way of completing Part 4 of The Cythyrya Investigation, which will be a mission by Rylla to the first "Phari planet" (Myllyr's Planet) to obtain nanites that will allow for use of the Phari teleportation station under Mt Picachu.

The first part of my science fiction story The Nanites of Love appeared in a September 1, 2022 blog post titled "Guess When?" The Nanites of Love is another story from 2022 that I have not yet completed. The events described in The Nanites of Love begin in the year 2022 when Eddy receives memories from the future (from the year 2040).

Part 1 of The Nanites of Love provides information about two probots who are on Earth: Rey and Anthony. By 2040, Rey has long since moved to Australia to help raise the many children of Rylla. Anthony remains in Arizona and becomes Tihri's companion.

Bonny
At the end of  Part 1 of The Nanites of Love, Eddy receives a mysterious invitation to enter into the Reality Simulation System. In Part 2 of The Nanites of Love, Upon arriving inside the Reality Simulator, Eddy finds himself in the body of a tryp'At hermaphrodite. Eddy is introduced to Carrin, Rylla's grandmother. Carrin raised Vendela (Rylla's mother) in Europe. It was in Europe that Eddy's son met Vendela.

Also inside the Simulation with Eddy and Carrin is Jymzy, who Eddy has previously known as Bonny Lynn and who claims to have originated as a Grendel. Jymzy identifies herself as one of the agents who works for Manny the bumpha and who has been working to guide human evolution on Earth for more than a million years.

creating Brak
A two year gap. Part 3 of The Nanites of Love was not published to the wikifiction blog until January 1, 2025. In "Making Vendela" there is an account of some recovered memories from Eddy's youth. Eddy is now allowed to remember that one of his childhood friends was a descendant of Trysta Iwedon, disguised by developmental control nanites as a human being. Eddy is now allowed to know that Carrin is his daughter and the grand-daughter of Trysta.

Jymzy then shifts Eddy to a simulation of the Erre district on Tar'tron where Carrin had been trained for for her mission on Earth. Eddy now realizes that by means of a complex time loop, he contributed genes to the creation of Marda's son Brak, the first fully telepathic human on Earth.

on Tar'tron
Jymzy and Eddy then use the Reality Simulation System to visit the planet Mothyng in the Asimov Reality where the human population had large numbers of Asterothrope gene patterns. While observing the telepaths of Mothyng, Jymzy tells Eddy that the only telepathy worth having is the kind that requires the telepaths to love and trust each other.

Part 3 of The Nanites of Love makes reference to the planet Threy, but Eddy is allowed to remember an alternative timeline in which his family vacations on the planet Kyrstynyte. During that vacation, Marda has a romantic interlude with a lover who has large numbers of Asterothrope gene patterns. This "temporary vacation" in the Asmov Reality allows Marda to be impregnated and start her Brak pregnancy.

In Part 4 of The Nanites of Love, the idea is mentioned that critical telepathy genes had been provided to the human population of Earth by Ekcolir and Grean, but sports like baseball had been used to maintain positive selection for those genes over the course of thousands of years.

Figure 2. Blastipositor by Whisk.
Eddy and Rylla travel to Mt. Picachu and try to determine the location of what my be a hidden Grendel base under the mountain. They use Eddy's blastipositor to establish a synapex link between their nervous systems, hoping to amplify their telepathic abilities and detect t-particles coming from the alien base that is located under Mt. Picachu.  I never completed Part 5 of The Nanites of Love, but in May, in Part 9 of the science fiction story "D*", Elyrix the Grendel took Tyhry into the secret teleportation facility under Mt. Picachu. Hopefully, some day I will be able to complete The Nanites of Love and provide an account of what happened to Eddy and Rylla during their visit to Mt. Picachu. Potentially, what they learned was erased from their minds, as part of a 20 year delay in reactivation of the teleportation equipment at Observer Base.

2040. In my December 3, 2022 blog post titled "Observing Mars", there is Part 1 of a new science fiction story called "Someday Mars" that begins at a time shortly after Eddy's daughter 'Tihri' has changed her name to "Tyhry". At this time, it is possible to use the teleportation equipment at Observer Base to move hierions, but not conventional matter. Tyhry is making use of negative mass hierions for her experiments in transportation and with clothing nanites. A story is found by Stacy in the archives of the Writers Block at Observer Base: "Remember Phobos", an account of a Phari base inside of Phobos.

The Search for Teleportation Technology. Tyhry and Marda are both soon to graduate from college and they are planning a celebratory vacation inside the Reality Simulation System. But first, Manny the bumpha provides Tyhry and Eddy with Reality Simulation coordinates for a visit to Observer Base in the Ekcolir Reality.

Manny the bumpha
In Part 2 of "Someday Mars", Eddy and Tyhry arrive inside Observer Base, Eddy having been placed in a younger body and Tyhry is now is a more mature body. At Observer Base inside the Ekcolir Reality Simulation, Eddy and Tyhry meet John Vance and Alice Turing and Wendy sends them to a chamber inside Phobos by using the Asimov Reality Simulation.

These copies of Vance and Alice are both femtobot replicoids and Alice delights in altering the shape of her body to please her lovers. Alice has previously received information about Phobos by way of the Sedron Time Stream and she was removed from Earth because of the stories that she wrote about future technologies. Tyhry hopes to find Phari nanites that might be useful in fully activating the teleportation equipment at Observer Base in the Final Reality.

Inside Phobos, the four explorers are greeted by a Phari artificial life-form that explains how this hidden base was long ago used as observation post to monitor the Nereid civilization on Ver'la, before Ver'la was teleported out of the Solar System.

Everything that they see inside Phobos is exactly as Alice had seen it in her vision of the future, including the teleportation equipment. The teleportation equipment only responds to Alice and Tyhry believes that control nanites for the teleportation equipment are inside Alice's replicoid body.

Figure 3. Tyhry by Whisk.
Alice forms a synapex link to Eddy and is able to find clues in the infites that he carries which allow her to extract the teleportation control nanites from her body. Eddy and Tyhry return to the final reality with the alien nanites now held inside a hierion containment vial.

The teleportation control nanites that were obtained from Alice's artificial body are teleported to Observer Base, but they do not allow for full activation of the teleportation equipment and subsequent teleportation of conventional matter.

However, the visit to Phobos was not without some advancement. Eddy discovers that he and Tyhry have now acquired the ability to keep secrets from other telepaths. Rylla concludes, "Manny gave you and Tyhry the bookmark for that little adventure with Alice. She must have wanted you two to learn better telepathy control." In later stories, Tyhry will have need to hide her thoughts from other telepaths in some situations.

Fiction in 2023. The first new science fiction story of 2023 appeared in a Jan 7, 2023 blog post titled, "Dethevicinelec". The story is called Echo of Cynym, and it begins with a visit by Eddy to Alastor 2672, a "water world" since it has no continents, only scattered volcanic islands. Eddy investigates rumors of what is called call "teleculture", a way of allowing an alien biological organism to maintain a symbiotic relationship with a human and amplify that person's telepathic powers.

The human-alien hybrids of Alastor 2672 were known as the Chyntos and Eddy arrives on the planet hopeful of meeting some Chyntos. However, he is met at the spaceport by a telepathic robot from the planet Triskelion. Bisop the robot has the physical form of a conventional human woman, but Eddy can telepathically sense the mind pattern of a robot.

Eddy soon has a chance to see some Chyntos and they have the physical appearance of a tryp'At hermaphrodite, with two rows of breasts.

Bisop the robot takes Eddy to the laboratory of Dr. Elyn Arky. Eddy gets his first look at the native creatures: the aquatic and telepathic Stateorea. Some gene patterns from the Stateorea have been added to the genomes of the Chyntos in an attempt to make human bodies compatible with an alien endosymbiont. However, some of the Chyntos spontaneously revert to a phenotype that is incompatible with such an implanted endosymbiont.

The Telepathic Stateorea of Dethevicinelec. In Part 2 of Echo of Cynym, Eddy is under telepathic attack by the Stateorea because his undisciplined telepathic mind emits signals that annoy the natives. Eddy is unaware of the fact that he has been enticed to visit Alastor 2672 in order for the Stateorea to have an opportunity to modify his brain structure.

Dr. Arky is intrigued by the idea that she is inside a simulation, but she must quickly deal with the telepathic conflict between Eddy and the Stateorea. Towards that goal, Eddy is introduced to Onky, a Chyntos whose body rejects implanted Stateo-symbionts. Onky is not happy on Alastor 2672 and immediately begins to hope that Eddy might take her out of the Simulation and to Earth. Although Onky's body rejects implanted Stateo-symbionts, she temporarily takes one into her thoracic pouch so that she can work with the Stateorea to alter Eddy's telepathic mind.

Dr. Arky - image source
In Part 3 of Echo of Cynym, Dr. Arky explains to Eddy that she was trained in advanced genetics by Nyrtia and tasked with finding a way to link the genetically modified Chyntos into the Phari Network by telepathically connecting to the telepathic group mind of the Stateorea on Alastor 2672, the world that the natives call Dethevicinelec.

Communication with the Phari. In Part 4 of Echo of Cynym, Dr. Arky explains to Eddy that she is a Cynym, a human variant that Nyrtia described as, "telepathic fossil... incompatible with the Phari telepathy network." The Chyntos were crafted as a new human variant that was designed for teleculture. Dr. Arky has tried to craft the Chyntos and their biological telepathic endosymbionts into a tool, a telepathic human culture that can achieve telepathic communication with the ancient Phari.

Cynym Anatomy. Dr. Arky tells Eddy, "Finding a way to block telepathic signals is one of the fundamental problems that must be solved when creating a society of telepaths." Dr. Arky explains to Eddy why the Asterothropes were designed with two rows of breasts. "The big top row shields the smaller bottom row. Thus, the telepathic signal detectors in the bottom row are protected from a person's own telepathic brain signals." Although Dr. Arky's body was altered and shaped so as to have the superficial appearance of a conventional human female, she explains the special anatomical features of a Cynum female which included six breasts, two vaginas and two tails.

After a week on Alastor 2672, Eddy departs with Onky and they have a brief encounter with Manny the bumpha. Manny repairs Eddy's neural networks, but informs him that he is now capable of shielding his thoughts from Zeta, despite the strong telepathic linkage they have developed through many years of practice learning their mind patterns.

In Part 5 of Echo of Cynym, Eddy and Onky are in Arizona, back at Eddy's home in the Final Reality. For the first time, Eddy can now prevent Tyhry from telepathically accessing his mind and thoughts. Eddy is surprised to learn that the copy of Onky that he brought back to Earth has a functioning Stateo-symbiont that she can use to form synapex linkages to her lovers.

Zeta is intrigued by the idea that it might be possible for her to now visit Alastor 2672 and have the Stateorea alter her telepathic brain as had been done for Eddy. However, they learn that they cannot us the Reality Simulation System to return to the mini-society of telepathic Chyntos that Dr. Arky made on Alastor 2672. That version of Alastor 2672 was carefully crafted by Manny, apparently for two purposes: 1) to alter Eddy's telepathic mind and to bring a copy of Onky to the First Reality.

The Amplification Fork. The first chapter of a new science fiction story called The Hua Nanites appeared in a January 14, 2023 blog post titled "𐀲hang𐀟 23". The events of The Hua Nanites are told by Tyhry. Tyhry takes Onky into a fork of the Final Reality Simulation in which she has made extensive use of the capacity of the Reality Simulation System to make duplicates of people. While in a telepathic trance with one of her femtobot replicoid copies, Tyhry is able to briefly 'enter into' the Sedron Domain, where Manny the bumpha is waiting for her. Manny tells Tyhry, "You'll get better with practice. Onky will use the stateo-symbiont to tune your mind to the Time Stream."

Tyhry soon discovers that it is now possible for her to access a Simulation of the far past in the First Reality. Manny has left a 'bookmark' in Eddy's Reality Simulation System that will allow Tyhry and Onky to visit the alien Hua. Tyhry hopes that programmable Hua nanites might be used to completely re-activate the teleportation equipment that is inside Observer Base of the Final Reality.

In Part 2 of The Hua Nanites, Manny reveals the fact that she instantiated a copy of Onky in the form of an artificial life-form composed of zeptite components. Eddy speculates that this will allow Onky's body to act as a zeptite containment system, allowing her to bring back to the Final Reality some programmable Hua zeptites.

Arriving on the home planet of the alien Hua, Tyhry learns that Manny arranged for them to meet the family of Quyn Vye, one of the leading developers of Hua nanotechnology.
